And yet saints fans are happy about it? That doesn’t seem like the reaction of an embarrassed fan base

Are they?

I don't spend time on any other board other than this one.

More like embarrassing that they only scored 1 TD today courtesy of Michael Jordan - and it wasn't the goat NBA one...

Imagine thinking we embarrassed the Saints by winning a game they didnt want to win.

We also moved down one spot in the draft and gave ourselves a harder schedule for next season! WTG!

Why would they not be, it was a meaningless game and it gave the winning team a harder schedule for next season.

Now we get the 2nd place schedule next season.

Winning the game at hand is always top priority. What the Texans did yesterday should put to rest any “franchise building trumps winning games” philosophy that many armchair GM’s embrace

They went head to head with the 2nd worst team in the league, they are still picking #2 and the bears dont need a QB, unless someone trades in front of them.

So we're just assuming....

cool.

Lol assuming. Your just looking to argue for the sake of argument. Winning that game had no benefit for next season. Building morale by backing into a 10-7 win against a garbage team that wasnt thinking about winning.

I am fine either way when it's something I can't control.  That being said, the only part that stinks is it's Atlanta who got the spot right in front of us due to the Panthers winning.  I do not know much about this QB class and it appears it's not that deep, etc but we missed out on Hebert due to one draft spot and Atlanta might want a QB.  Oh well, we will see how it plays out.

Those are grown men competing out there.

They are not going to deliberately throw the game.

Let's be realistic here.

That only happens when you play Madden or something.

Woah bud, dont move the goalposts.

The conversation was saints fans were happy that they lost the game.

    • forgot to include the quote: best play in panther history   Pretty great.  X Clown also. I was always real fond of Jake’s 1st play vs Jacksonville simply for his entrance into the huddle which completely woke people up. That and what they went on to do in that game was a major turning point for the franchise.IMO. Kris Jenkins’ kick xp block vs TB is a big one for me.
    • I certainly wouldn't be surprised if that happened.  We might take a shot with say a fourth rounder if there is someone the staff likes.
    • I interpreted your original reply as the team could have success if the new players and coaches were really good, AND they created an offense that didn't count on the QB being a primary contributor. Because you think Bryce won't be able to hold up his end. I think you confirm that above. My only point is that I don't see how anyone can say definitively what Bryce Young will be in the league yet, based on his supporting cast from last season. And it seems those that have already decided that Bryce Young is a bust, likely just didn't like him as the pick in the first place. A little context for me... lots of folk here didn't like Cam while he was a Panther either. It had very little to do with him as a talent. And just for the record, I really am not invested in Bryce Young. I didn't want the team to move up for a QB at all in 2023. I thought 2024 would be the year to go for a QB. But when they did, I ordered the QBs as Anthony Richardson, then CJ, then Bryce. The disfunction from the front office, to the playcalling, to the scheme, to the oline and the receivers was just not a good situation. Horrible actually. Asking a rookie to perform with all that adversity is just not realistic to me, at any position let alone QB. So to me, the verdict is still out. I don't know if he can be the guy because the situation he was in last year was set up to fail from the start. In preseason, as soon as I saw the oline couldn't figure out how to even slow down the Jets' pass rush (particularly stunts) and the receivers were locked up like Fort Knox, I knew we were in for a long season.
