I really like Rashee Rice but if he runs a really fast 40 he may not last till the second.

This site says he ran a 4.36 and if he does that he’ll be gone daddy gone in round 1

Thing is.

how many WRs do you hunk go rd1?  He could still easily end up being WR5 in this class even running that.
it is possible for him to fall out of rd q just because not that many teams will be taking WRs rd 1

I like Jarrett but I don't know if he's Diggs.  Diggs was so underrated coming into the NFL because of some off-field concerns but he was dynamic and a top 10 prospect coming out of high school.  But Jarrett would be a great day 3 grab for the slot assuming his route running improves.  Shi probably has him beat in that department coming out.

Another one I'm starting to look into for the slot is Nathaniel Dell from Houston who just seems to know how to get seperation.  He's light though so how he weighs in this offseason will be important.

Jarrett also was a composite 5* coming out of HS

Diggs best season in college he has 848 yards and 6 TDs

Jarretts was 829 yards and 5 TDs

Smith-Njigba, Addison, Johnston, Rice, Flowers, Downs, and Hyatt already mentioned for good reason, would be happy with any of them.

I want to add a sleeper who is probably rated round 4 or later, but kid has a lot of potential that wasn't shown in a very pedestrian offense at Virginia. I think he makes noise at the Senior Bowl

Naw I don’t have him WR5 at all.  He is definitely going to get big time interest with his size and production + a blazing 40.

Smith-Njigba is my dude. Olave was my favorite WR last year and I think Jaxon is better than Olave.

Let me be very clear. I would sell the farm to get a QB whether it be via trade or draft I don’t care. So the thought of using pick 9 on anything other than a QB hurts to talk about.

But if for whatever reason we end up on the clock at 9 without a QB to pick from, Smith-Njigba is my WR1

He is my #1 guy as well.  Not a huge fan of Johnston personally.

Great post @ncfan keep ‘em coming

Same here

Agreed

honestly.

to me he is the Will Levi’s of WRs.

tremendous tools and upside.  But still pretty raw.  Not the greatest route runner.  Most of his stuff is them moving him around and just getting him the ball.

With less than 48 hours to go, a site I use states that Johnston and Addison are both still undeclared.  That's the top two guys in this draft class!  Jaxson Smith-Njiba would be the top guy in the class.  Sites I visit have him mid-to-late round now.

I’ve not seen a single person say Jaxson Smith is a mid rd.  More mid 1st rd.

anything can happen.  But no way that guy decides to come back.  He literally said he skipped the college football playoffs to get healthy for the draft.

Worth a look as a later round pick.

1,000 yard receiver this year.

Big, physical WR (6’2” 223lbs).. initiates contact.  Wins all the 50/50 balls.  Serious mean streak for a WR… plays the position like a linebacker.  He will be at the combine so we’ll see… his 40 time is his biggest drawback, but it doesn’t hold him back on tape.

Sorry, mid first round.  Point being, we are pick #9, so as to value, he would be a bit of a reach.

    • I've only ever considered it possible for 1, maybe 2 if pinned inside the 10, deep balls per drive. The play is just too big. A new deep ball can be completed in under 2.5 seconds. That just isn't right.
    • It’s out there to look up. There is a definition. It is so convoluted and broad I got frustrated before I could finish it.  It just seemed wrong to me.  I think the words they choose for the names of these stats are the bigger problem than the stat itself. Because there were things in that definition that I thought to myself “how is that big time?”
    • yes. I never paid much attention to these stats until people started using them to tell me how great Bryce is.  When I have watched every snap he ever took and look at video during the week, and can objectively see how ‘great’ he is, what his throws look like, the whole thing. The stats criteria is just misleading to faulty when you look at it. That doesn’t reflect on Bryce, I can’t see how it does. It is directed at the criteria being used to evaluate him. And others.     No joke, the game casts now call a 16 yard TD a deep pass - I can only surmise it is because it went 4 yards deep in the end zone making it a 20 yard throw. Who among us, all being likely lifelong football fans, grew up picturing a 16 yard TD pass as a deep ball? Anybody?  It is just not a helpful stat, it is absurd. There is no stat for 30 yard throws. Nor for 40. And so on. And they are generally more demanding throws. Say your QB nailed 4 35 yard throws in a game and my QB nailed 4 20s. Should they be rated equally as deep passers off of that? Tell me my guy is has the best rate on 20-30 yard throws instead. Break it down.  To call 20 yards and everything past that the same thing? Why would you do that? I mean, calling a 20 yard pass a deep ball, is like calling Bryce tall.
