Proudiddy's Boldest Prediction in the History of Proudiddy's Bold Predictions

I actually hardly ever make bold predictions, but the title sounded good.  But among the few I have made, I did predict both the Cam and Luke picks and that they would be generational talents before we drafted them.  So, I guess I have a good track record, but I have rarely ever made predictions about wins, losses, or team success because there are just too many variables and our franchise has just always seemingly fell into ways of dysfunction.  All of that being said, I posted this in the Capers Hire Thread, and I'm so convicted about it and feel so confident in it, that I will share it here...

I'm telling yall...  again, I was not excited about the Reich hire initially, but not disappointed either.  Just wasn't really moved.  Some of that could also just be apathy from years of abuse at the hands of our beloved organization...  but the more time has passed and info that has come out, I am definitely excited.

And I'm going to take it a step further.  I think we finally got it right.  I also feel like there is some cosmic alignment of the stars happening with what is taking place.  Our original QB as HC, our original HC, our DC is a supernova young coach who is a disciple of both our original DC and HC, and we're bringing in another one of our former backup QBs to coach, who also happens to be highly regarded league wide.

Again, mark my words.  I've never been optimistic for any extended period with this team because there has always been holes to poke into any optimism that bubbled up.  This is different.  I already believed in Fitt as a GM, especially now without Rhule tampering with anything.  I believe in the other FO staff like Morgan and Sulaiman.  And now knowing the process that went on here in hiring Reich.  We finally got our first offensive-minded HC, and again, all of the history associated with the team therein...  I'm telling you...  this isn't just optimism.  This is the first time I've ever said this or made this prediction in our history - we are going to win a Super Bowl under Frank Reich and with the staff he's assembling.  I don't know when, but it's going to happen.  Something is percolating, and it's never been this way before.

Yep it’s all about QB. I don’t think Fit is a GM but I do think this staff is average at worst. Give them a franchise QB and they will be winners, otherwise I see .500.

Trade up and take and elite talent, it is the way and this is the year to do it.

But see, that's where my optimism comes in.  Imagine what Reich would have done with Cam instead of the neglect and misuse he endured under Rivera.  Reich won a Super Bowl with Nick effing Foles lol.  I know the results in Indy were up and down, but as we see, Indy is super dysfunctional in itself, so I can't really hold that against him.  I was a fan of his work in SD and Philly, and I think what he did there in organizations where there wasn't meddling from above speaks volumes to what he can do work any level of QB.

I feel like Reich is the kind of guy that can make chicken salad out of chicken poo.  And if he actually gets a guy who fully fits his system???  It's gonna be crazy...  and I'm confident we are going to identify and acquire that guy in the draft.  I've never felt this optimistic, especially not this early in an offseason.

Me too. But that basically just means I think the odds are higher than zero. I'm still not convinced they're actually decent odds.

Yeah, I mean honestly, the odds are horrible even for competent staffs, but I'm confident this one will figure it out because they're much more versed in the art than any staff we've had before.

    • Bryce among the 7 players Mark Ross of NFL.com guarantees will get better this season. Today, I am identifying seven players who I guarantee will improve on their 2024 output in the 2025 season. Young took tremendous strides in 2024 after returning to the starting lineup in Week 8 following his benching. He looked far more comfortable in his return and produced with consistency, as he threw for 2,104 yards with 15 TDs and six INTs in the final 10 contests. Most important perhaps is Young's confidence grew immensely down the stretch, leading Carolina to either a game-tying or game-winning drive in six of those games. Now he enters his second season in Dave Canales' system with his best supporting cast to date. The Panthers drafted wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan eighth overall to pair with Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette, who I also believe is poised for a breakout campaign this fall. The 18th-ranked rushing attack from a year ago added Rico Dowdle to complement Chuba Hubbard, giving the team a pair of 1,000-yard rushers. The Panthers have taken the necessary steps to ensure Young's third season will be the best of his career, and now it's up to him to not only continue to grow as a player but prove why he was worthy of being taken No. 1 overall in 2023. I believe that's what he will do. https://www.nfl.com/news/which-nfl-players-will-improve-in-2025-c-j-stroud-deebo-samuel-among-guaranteed-risers
    • While it's fair to question how impactful a player's relationship with a coach is (especially if someone has questions regarding said coach), it's important to also evaluate the difference between the players here. Jordan Fuller was pick #199 in the 6th round while Justin Simmons was #98 in the 3rd round. Jordan Fuller might have gotten a Super Bowl ring while he was with the Rams, but he got it while on the IR. Justin Simmons, on the other hand, is a x2 Pro-Bowler (2020, 2023), x4 second-team All-Pro (2019, 2021 - 2023), and was the NFL co-leader in INTs (2022). Simmons has also fallen off in the last couple of seasons though, grade-wise. He very well might not be that same player, which could be why the Falcons have elected to replace him with Fuller. As far as getting the best out of what he has, asking him to produce with a starting DL of A'Shawn Robinson (63.56% of the defense's snaps), LaBryan Ray (51.48%), and Shy Tuttle (50.08%) isn't reasonable. Wonnum only played in 8 games, but had the second most % of snaps (37.27%) at EDGE behind Clowney (53.53%). The second-string DL based on snap % was... and don't read this if you just ate... Charles Harris (34.48%), DeShawn Williams (27.67%), and Nick Thurman (19.7%). The second-string EDGEs based on snap count would be DJ Johnson (32.27%) and Cam Gill (18.14%). With the investments made in the run defense this season though, especially on the defensive line, it's more than fair to demand a complete turn around from last season.
