20/20 hindsight:  During the 2020 draft, Panthers should have prioritized going after a franchise QB.  That having been said, Rhule's coaching staff would have likely ruined the career of whatever QB they managed to draft.

That would have been the draft to do it, 2020.  The Jags weren't giving up Trevor at #1 in 2021, so that wouldn't have occurred.   Wilson is a bust, Lance is an unknown and Fields is iffy.  Plus, Rhule decided to pass on Fields...didn't even have to move up.  Last year was one of those QB classes you stay away from.  Granted we took a flyer pick with Corral in the 3rd, but no harm done if he flops.  I'm just glad be didn't get desperate for Kenny Pickett.

True.  The reciprocal may also be true where with Reich’s staff, drafting Richardson, Hooker, McKee or Tune without trading up may produce very acceptable long term results without losing all the trade up draft picks.

We fans are understandable anxious to see immediate results after the buildup of expectations for Reich and his staff.  Maybe, just maybe, Reich, Tepper, Fitt are playing long ball, and willing to draft BPA at nine and then develop a later round QB prospect.  Not a popular opinion on this board and likely to cause many heads to explode, if true.  YMMV.

Generalization about "every year" is overreaction.  We rightly didn't draft a QB last year in the first round because it was garbage and the previous two years Rhule wanted a veteran.  Before then we had Cam since 2011 and didn't need a first round QB. Secondly, this is still not a playoff roster--yet.  Next year we will be about a .500 team which will put us drafting in the teens.  Also, it will be a deeper QB draft next year where moving all the way up for a solid QB won't be needed.  Even so, if Williams or Maye is your target, what's another first rounder in 2026, right?  Draft picks are a non-issue when getting your guy...seemingly.

Same thing said every year..  “ Next year is the year for QB’s” .. Okay got you..smh
Not a playoff roster but with competent (half the season coaching) 1 game out of a playoff spot.. A full year of that and we will be worst?? 🤦‍♂️ Yeah okay!! Why are some of you so worried in missing some picks in this draft ??? When reality is this draft isn’t as strong as others any way…

fug it just keep Corral and keep all these precious picks so we can get more YGM, Trembles and TMJ’s .. Let’s not miss out on them.. Let’s hope Reich can make garbage into a diamond all the time.. lmao

You obviously don't understand how the draft works.  I also debunked the "every year" thing.  Two years doesn't make it "every year".  The Saints will give us a run for the division.  If we make the playoffs, it will be short lived, only because we won a weak division.

I think we are building something here, but my hope is the staff is a little more patient than some of the fans.

Okay..

1. Saints may gives us a run but for how long?? Older team worst coaching situation not a lot of cap flexibility… So 1 maybe 2 years if we get our Young QB on a rookie deal  right?? More worried about Atlanta then New Orleans to be honest….

2. I know exactly how the draft works and if you have been studying this years like you think you have this isn’t a great year to have a lot of pick’s because top the bottom this isn’t a great draft for other positions.. Wr isn’t as good as last years Oline isn’t as good as last years their isn’t the depth at Dline, LB and Secondary that last year had.. To be honest there is only 3 blue chip players in this draft and 1 is a RB.. Other then QBs this draft isn’t as good as last years.. TE is good and RB is strong in this draft .. So we could trade the picks we acquired by trading CMC (to be in position to make this move by the way)and still get players…So yes I understand how a draft works…

3. Be patient is still part of the plan.. But you still have to follow the plan… They set themselves up to be in position to get their QB this year and have the necessary resources like (coaching Oline and weapons) to help develop him.. But you still have to get the the QB and be patient while he develops..

But reality remains this is going to be a better team just on coaching alone.. To think that you’re going to be in position to get a QB “next year” is not knowing this team at all thinking.. sorry jmo

Ikwonu, Horn, Brown, DJ, Burns, CMC.  Trade ups of multiple first round drafts picks will cost you the 2024 and 2025 versions of the this list.  No thank you.

You do you.

Okay… Still will take a QB over any of these players.. Funny how most of the board will trade any of these guys for a franchise QB..

lol
