And if I'm not mistaken teams can only speak with agents and not the players directly.

The whole thing was just CYA. Everyone knows that tampering is a way of life. Having this "legal tampering" period just removed the awkwardness of having complicated multi-year, multi-million dollar contracts signed mere minutes after FA opened while pretending all that got negotiated out and agreed to in less than ten minutes. It was always completely absurd. This is just window dressing

We have the best defense in the division.

We very well may have the best QB in the division. We are a #1 WR away from being the favorites to win the division. We would basically replace DJ with a better WR in Hopkins.

How is that crazy?

Rookie QBs don't win divisions and we are not a #1 WR away because the rest of the room stinks.  Plus, Nuke is washed.

That's why that statement was nuts.Eye Googly Eyes GIF

Panthers are expected to kick the tires on Jakobi Meyers (no rhyme intended). Will depend on his interest and willingness to structure his contract to suit them.

I like it, another Jericho Cotchery type.  The price has to be right though.  He's solid, but not worth breaking the bank to acquire.

Either you hell of high on Derek Carr or you hell of low on the QB's in this draft.

Hopkins isn't washed he was suspended for 7 games and was only 300 yards behind DJ Moore in receiving yards.lmao

We gotta stop overrating DJ Moore on this board. He's a borderline #1 more of a high end #2 WR.

How many rookies have won their division??

Honestly, not that crazy to think that it can happen.  Look at the division we're in.  Other than the Saints, Panthers really well could, if the QB plays like a #1 pick.  Assuming they bring Boze and Foreman back, we have a RB threat and great O-line unit.  Defense should play well in this new scheme.  We have the personnel and the proper coaches.  Pass catchers is mainly what we need now and I'm sure it is going to get addressed.

Bucs, no way, they'll tank this year.

Falcons, seem like they're rolling with Ridder, nope for them either.

Saints really are the main threat for the divison.

Name rookie QBs that have won their division.  I'll wait.  That's a lot of research for such a small list....if you can call it a list.  Let's not go back to the before the 90's, just the past 30-ish years to save you some time.

Yes it is. Agents are always talking to teams about their client's. Especially if their clients are pending FA's. That's why as a player you should have an agent.  Lamar has really hurt himself by not having one.

If you scared go to church!

I do go to church, but not because I'm scared....irrelevant to the conversation.

Anyway, if we DO happen to win the division it's for the simple fact it's the weakest division in the NFL.  We have the Saints to beat, that's all.  The Bucs and Falcons are in worse shape than we are.

    • They can get film of all the games? Every team? Wow! Who knew… Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
