Weren't you the one calling Stroud OSU trash? You are the complete opposite of objective bub 😂

No? When did I call Stroud trash? I’ve been countlessly saying that he’s been spoon fed and playing the game on easy, but never trash. I’ll admit his strengths but the weaknesses scare me.

U keep saying Goff but Goff was one of the best passers in the NFL last year. Goff has also made it to a Super Bowl.

Why tf wouldn't we take a guy because "He's like Goff"

Goff was traded along with a 1st round & more by a team who wanted to win a Super Bowl. The team then won the superbowl IMMEDIATELY after!

My point is CJ will be good. Carolina will be very respectable as a team. Our best chance to win will be under his rookie deal.
Because after we pay him like these other teams did for GOFF/CARR we will be mediocre & try to unload him like they did.

If it wasn't you I'll retract and own the mistake but I do recall seeing a post of someone saying something along those lines within the last week. Like I've been vocal of my concern with Young's size but I haven't denied his talent as a QB. But you seem to be doing that with Stroud. How is Stroud playing on easy but Bryce Young and every other Alabama QB playing under Nick Saban isn't? Be consistent.

That team also traded up for Goff to get him.

And the team that had Stafford didn't even win a playoff game with him.

That team that traded Goff also has one of the best offensive minds in NFL history as their head coach.

Goff was also a better QB than Stafford last year -- who may never be the same.

So, taking some of the many nuances of the Goff situation into account -- why the hell wouldn't we draft a Goff when we've had QBs like P.J. Walker, Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield before him? Keep in mind Stroud's arm is more quality than Goff's, so this comparison is only abt his ability as a pocket passer and to dissect zone defenses.

Who were Young’s WR this past season? What was he throwing to? I’ll give you 2021, where he had Metchie and Jameson, that just happened to lead him to Heisman.

there's not liking a guy and then there's being willfully ignorant.

Stroud probably runs somwhere around a low 4.6 hig 4.7 which would put him in line with someone like Mahomes. He scrambles a lot like Mahomes too. Only when he has too.

Stroud can move. He's more athletic than Goff and Cousins.

so since u r using a word like “probably” it means u r guessing he is faster as much as I’m guessing is not. but somehow my take is “ignorant” according to u. Lol

if CJ could run 4.6 like u r suggesting, he would have ran at the combine. Why would he withhold an asset? Come on man, be real.

by the way Carr ran 4.67. Goff ran 4.8…

I think we’ll just agree to disagree honestly. No witty tacks throw.

I'd say assuming Goff is his ceiling is as closed minded as assuming Bryce is going to get hurt just because he's 190-200 lbs. Both these players can ascend past their profiles.

Goff capped out and wasnt capable of carrying his team, I would argue CJ has shown more upside in terms of managing pressure and development there than Goff did in college. Cousins is actually a pretty good QB if he wasnt so scared to throw it deep. I think narrowing your sites on a comp and specifically assuming the same exact scenario will play out is dangerous.

Stroud for all my issues with his handling pressure showed development in that area even before the Georgia game last year and i'd argue there is still a ton of room to grow there. Especially once we get him in our system and he's able to develop with a decent line in front of him for a few years.

It is very ignorant yes! Literally just the Georgia game can confirm Stroud has more than functional mobility for a pocket passer. And he knew when to scramble -- When Georgia kept selling out in man, tuning his back to him -- which makes it even more impressive. Through out his film you can see him breaking the pocket to extend the play, with mixed results yes, but he's not a statue and he can scramble.

The reason he didn't run? Dunno. It's the combine. Why didn't Young throw? I would've loved to see his deep ball.

If we could agree both QB's are good at what they do and neither are playing "easy mode" we could have a productive discussion. The biggest question with the number one pick is durability as in which one will still be playing ten plus years from now.

Honestly I just love how calm his feet are  at all times. Never looks antsy or skiddish.

That is one thing that let me know Brady was going to be a different sort of player at QB. Some guys are just *comfortable* standing there in the chaos and diagnosing things. If we draft CJ, I hope he is able to show similar promise early on.

If we take Young, I will understand why and support the move--but Stroud--in a clean pocket is tough to beat.  But to be fair, most QBs suck under pressure.
