When a 6'3" 300lb DT lands on top of a 6'3" 220lb Stroud the reaction inside of your chest won't be as strong as when it inevitably happens to 5'10" barely 200lb Young.

The fear is logical and undeniable. I wish him the best but he doesn't even have Michael Vick speed to make up for the two inches he gives up to even Vick himself.

Bad idea. Love the skill, talent, heart but the NFL is full of extra ordinarily tough, bigger, faster, and stronger human beings and he isn't a WR or CB who can pretty much stay away from the big boys, no, that hit is coming.

Let it go man.

There is a 50% chance Bryce might be our QB. Better start talking positive about him instead of thinking negative. We all know his size is a concern. Doesn't take away from his talent. He's the best QB in this draft if you ignore his size.

Can't do that bro. He's not even 6'. I'm a big fan of underdogs but not the almost impossible.

Some of those football players wives are bigger than your boy. We've got the #1, let someone else experiment with a smaller than Kyler QB.

NO. Can't ignore such a huge deficiency in favor of something that rarely happens, the 5'10" QB revolution.

Huge risk. This is the pros. Everybody is bigger stronger faster and perhaps meaner, more motivated.

Stroud isn't physically ideal either but IS average height for an NFL player and good weight and he didn't look small next to AR.

Muggsy was a 5'3" PG, how many since? Why? It's the pros. They can't invest #1 in hopes and dreams they have to get as close to the prototype as they can. I hope you understand

I remember the play. Im asking what does a rb have to do with a QB?

He's the same size, stronger, more muscle, heavier and that man almost ended his career and his life flashed before his eyes before he got broken.

Without that extra size and bulk as DeAngelo at the same height....say a prayer. As a fan I'd be terrified.

Cam Newton was one of the biggest QB's in NFL history and look how short his career was.

Just because you have size doesn't mean you will last longer than a smaller player. It goes both ways.

#1 pick...................risk vs reward............Stroud, Levis, Richardson........Young. What's the only difference? It's obvious.

So much so it can't be overlooked. He's not soooo much better than Stroud to be considered over him.

Young is a bargain pick not a top pick. I think he'll be drafted in a low risk high reward situation much like Malik and Corral.

Andrew Luck was 6'4 235 and linebackers had him crying in the shower at night. Either a guy can take the punishment or he can't.

These new Bryce Young posters are suspicious...

Somebody using multiple alt accounts to defend their man. That's some true dedication right there lol

Im happy with either Young or Stroud honestly.

Yeah there are like 4 Young die hards that are all new accounts this past month. I have high hopes for the man, but these posters are definitely suspicious…

It's hard not to be excited with the draft just a month out.

The team upgraded the coaching staff nearly across the board, retained the OL (and arguably upgraded it by replacing Elflein with McCray), upgraded TE, lost Moore but gained Thielen + Chark at WR, and has the core parts of an ascending defense in place. Big bodies are being added to the defensive line and some back end aid has been brought in (Von Bell). The defense could use additional depth at LB, CB, and on the edge, but that can be addressed after the #1 pick is addresses the open role of franchise QB.

Nice to feel full of hope rather than having to find hope like the last few seasons.

Im sorry you feel that way. Don't jump on the bandwagon when he's lighting this league up though. Keep that same energy his entire career.

This is such a weird take. Just because someone prefers Stroud and think Young has a high risk of getting injured, he or she is not allowed to cheer for Young if we pick him and he’s successful? Good grief, some of the Young supporters…

    • I felt pretty good about us making progress this season, surprising some people, and getting some more wins than last season going into it.  Now, after preseason, my expectations are much, much lower. I was talking with my friend who is a Bears fan, and we were discussing their drubbing of the Bills and how people try to dismiss it as “preseason, so it doesn’t count.”  It absolutely counts.  Not the wins or losses.  No one really cares about that.  But what the Bears are doing shows that even in a vanilla, non-specific scheme, they are executing at an elite level and they are disciplined.  It shows they are well coached.  They see growth in their players.  Versus us - hard to tell what we’re looking at because everything is a fuging mess.  In games we’re still undisciplined, be it penalties or assignments.  We do NOT execute.  We got random coaches calling plays that won’t be calling plays during the season, we have our players getting into fights in the last padded practice of the preseason, then we have Bryce and Chuba trying to correct it while our coach sat off to the side laughing.  To be clear, I like Canales.  He seems like a good dude.  But, it feels like we have very little direction and discipline.  You’re allowing a team who has been historically bad the last almost decade, with a losing culture that mostly bereft of talent to self-police?  You’re allowing subordinates to work in pet projects at the expense of getting valuable reps and evaluation of players in during games?     My friend literally brought up last night that when Ben Johnson got there he essentially put DJ Moore in notice because it was starting to be perceived that he was displaying some diva-behavior.  That’s leadership.  And they’re reaping the benefits early and setting a tone.  My friend said there is an excitement and confidence in and around their team that’s he’s never felt his entire life.  And here we are, sounding and looking like The Bad News Bears in our final week of training camp and preseason.  I literally stopped watching after halftime last week.  I used to watch every play faithfully, even in 2001 and 2010.  It was fun.  This isn’t.  We are bad and our administration keeps making bad decisions to compound things.  Reading poo like this today is just fuging deflating.
    • With so much of the focus the past couple years being on offense, the defense has definitely taken a backseat to the talent available in the draft. I get it, they want to surround their number one draft pick QB with offensive playmakers but unfortunately that has come with a price that so far has not worked Let’s hope the offense and Bryce Young put it together this year or it’s going to be another rebuild next year with another new QB.
    • I was intrigued by him but always said it comes down to the interview process and talking to his former coaches, etc. You gotta find out if he's coachable and has the mental makeup. I think we've found the answer. LOL
