Mentioned this possibility  last week and was told the pick has been made already! No doubt  that Bryce  is probably  the fave but Fitt is always open for business.

People talk like there's some kind of intrinsic value to the #1 pick, or there's something special about being able to say you got the first quarterback in the draft.

Yeah...None of that is true.

The first quarterback in the draft can just as easily be Baker Mayfield as it can be Peyton Manning. There's nothing magical about that position.

And hell, I'd suggest there's more credibility in saying you got your guy later rather than sooner. The Chiefs can crow that they got arguably the best quarterback in the league 10th overall.

So frankly, as long as we get a guy who can finally be our franchise quarterback, who gives a sh-t whether we picked him at #1 or #12? I damn sure don't.

And if we can get that guy plus additional picks that can be used to build around him, to quote well-known philosopher Steven Austin, hell yeah!

This is just the "draft market" correcting itself to make Levis the #2 QB. I have heard since February and even mentioned on here that they like Levis. However, he is not their #1 QB. The only way I see Carolina taking Levis is if they make some deal to trade out of the number 1 slot-which could happen if there is a tempting offer. OR something very damaging is released about Young- which I highly doubt.

Just now, The Lobo said:

I find it interesting that people were saying Vegas knows stuff that’s why the line is what it is, yet when it shifts another way you get insiders and others saying Vegas doesn’t know poo, so which is it?

People use Vegas to represent their opinion when it's convenient, similar to how people cherry pick statistics. This is just the lines correcting themselves in favor of Levis' increased popularity and Stroud falling. The Reddit article is likely BS but may have accelerated it, it was going to happen anyways.

Makes sense.

I've said all along I wouldn't expect something like that to occur but crazier things have happened.

Never forget that anything is possible.

Honestly I love that this nonsense is coming about the likelihood of controversy at the #1 overall pick. Gives the Panthers more exposure, downside is some are dumb enough to wager on it and Vegas will recoup other losses since people are very irrational when it comes to winning money.

    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
    • I hear you but yeah like you say, above average. His numbers were good. You’d think it would be a no brainer. Anyhow… I guess the new staff is also fine with him walking?    I hope if we sign him there isn’t some secret issue of his that led to him not being valued.
