Marner is currently making nearly $2M more than Aho. Talk about a cap buster. The Canes would have to extend Aho by $2-3M AAV just to keep him.

Can you honestly see the Canes paying Marner and Aho $11M each or more? I don't think so. Especially after Waddell's comments hinting at wanting to sign Aho for another 8 years. Doesn't make sense.

Rumors abound regarding a trade with Winnipeg to acquire Mark Scheifele. His last 6 years with the Jets looked like this. And his current salary is $6M.

A couple more guys that can score, more specifically on the pp, and a couple more heavier, grittier guys and we can do it next year. I just hope we dont think only adding 1 or 2 is enough.

Would love Scheifele but I’d imagine the ask would be Jarvis. Friedman is reporting the Jets aren’t rebuilding and want roster players back if they gut their core.

In all fairness... Arguably the top five are Draisatl, McJesus, Matthews, Makar, and MacKinnon... So, 27 teams in the NHL don't have a top five player...

We aren't in need of much, but we need better health luck and another scorer

Looking forward to the draft. A lot of “experts”/commentators are saying it’s the deepest it’s been in a long time.

Disagree. We need an assist man and a goal scorer. Aho needs a true assist man and we need someone that can cover the first half the season for svech. As don’t forget he’s not going to be back until December at the earliest.

As well as Max Pacioretty. Say what you will, but he was replaced with Jack Drury and Pool Party.
