Yeah, I used to get well-done as a kid following behind mama (and dad), but the best steak that I ever had was when I grilled it seven minutes on each side. I cut into it and the pink was still there. I was forced to put my wife's back on the grill, and she implored me to do the same but I devoured it (and another), and it was delicious. I think she may have made some comments about me being animalistic, but I just shrugged and continued chewing.

My ole lady says she hates seeing me eat a steak. Says the pink and hemoglobin make her sick, and doesn’t understand how I eat it. Told her it’s good, that’s how. I, too, was raised on well done. We’d go to a steak spot and my mom would get ours well done, meanwhile my dad is getting his medium rare, but backing up my mama when she would get ours well done. Had a medium rare steak in my late 20’s, and never looked back.

As for Mingo, I like him and think he’s going to be a stud. The boy is from the sticks, deep off in the woods, Mississippi. I remember playing his high school in football, and going up there. Country boy for real. I’m rooting for him heavy

My parents also eat steak medium well or well done. They were the generation who lost any sense of good food with quality or fresh ingredients. I don't follow culinary suggestions from them.

My mom likes them well done with A1!!!! (yuck), but my dad always tells the waiter (much to my mom's embarrassment) "just knock off the horns and wipe it's ass".

I definitely would not go out to eat with that guy anywhere that steak is on the menu🤣

LOL. 55 years into the marriage, I'm sure he's done worse. Cooking at home, she waits until she flips hers to start his steak.

Yes, my mom is the grillmaster of the family. Dad's only allowed to use the side burner to fry fish and cook collards because they stink up the kitchen.

Let the culinary pendulum swing the other way gentlemen.

A LOT of our parents grew up on TV dinners, pre-prepared garbage with little flavor and less nutrients.

They simply don't know how to cook, how to eat good food, and most don't care to change, but you guys can.

You guys should see what some chefs do after a customer orders their steak well done.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
