I predict Fitterer will make no trades the year and will instead keep his limited '24 daft picks

Panthers' 2024 picks:

— Their own second-rounder

— Their own third-rounder

— Their own fourth-rounder

— San Francisco's fifth-rounder

— Tennessee's fifth-rounder

— Arizona's sixth-rounder

I wouldn't say that's so bad: just one pick less than normal, no seventh rounder but two fifth rounders.

Not having a first is the only painful part, but if Young is as good as we hope he is that'll be worth it.

Definitely better than some of the years when we went in with just something like four or five picks.

PFF Trade candidates https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-surprise-nfl-trade-cut-candidates-2023-deadline-analysis-landing-spots

QB MATT CORRAL, CAROLINA PANTHERS

Carolina signed free agent quarterback Andy Dalton to a two-year, $10 million deal and followed that up with the blockbuster trade for franchise quarterback Bryce Young. Corral, the team’s third-round selection just last year after a trade-up with the New England Patriots, was obviously the odd man out coming into camp. Teams may take advantage of the new rule that allows them to potentially play three quarterbacks on game day and roster a third option, but Carolina may also see if it can recoup any value out of a recent prospect.

With what sounds like a tough injury to wide receiver D.J. Chark, the Panthers could look to add outside talent to the receiver room if they aren’t comfortable with slotting in Terrace Marshall, Laviska Shenault Jr. and others on the depth chart. Numbers games elsewhere across the roster could make it more challenging to retain Corral, as well.

Corral was 4-of-12 for 52 yards in preseason Week 3, earning a 45.0 passing grade. One of the incompletions was a batted pass. Perhaps a team with a less settled backup spot — or a team interested in providing a change of scenery to a young quarterback, as the Dallas Cowboys did with Trey Lance  will give Carolina a call on Corral.

Potential landing spots: Cincinnati Bengals, Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks

Limited bc they just don’t have a 1st?  They still have 6 picks in the bag.

    • Exactly. This has decimated the fanbase as well. There’s wayyyy less excitement even for a year where we have “improved”
    • It's about his playing style. I pointed all this put leading up to the draft. He'd usually take the snap from shotgun at Bama and immediately drop back another 5+ yards after that and then just kinda freewheel standing square to the LOS surveying the field. That can't world at the NFL for several reasons. 1) you can't create a picket that deep at the NFL level. NFL edge rushers are too good. 2) Standing square to the LOS like Bryce did now once you see where you want to throw, you have to flip your hips to get in position to deliver the throw. That means both your receiver needs to be wide open and you need ample protection. Not happening in the NFL. 3) On all of his deep throws he needed to be able to step up and through the throw to generate power. That rarely happens in the NFL. It happened recently against Atlanta and he played great but that type if time and room to operate just rarely happens on Sundays. Bryce was IMO always a prototypical great college player who just doesn't translate to the NFL from a talent and stylistic perspective. I don't know how he fooled football people into thinking otherwise.
    • Seems so weird considering his college career, like obviously being a great Pro player is much harder but still how do you go from Heisman winning greatest Alabama QB this era to worst starting QB in the league, I don't get it. I know he had an injury his last year in college but that shouldn't effect his "processing" skills the way something has
