Teddy Vibes

I mean there are similar aspects to Teddy’s game.  That’s just a reality.  Teddy was a first rounder too with his skill set.

Agreed. Just an interesting observation as most on here hated Teddy with a burning passion by the end of his tenure here, with the most common citation from my recollection being his inability to make splash plays, especially down field.

Young can sling it. Elite arm strength is not there yet he's only 22. Off the charts physical ability isn't the end all be all anyway we saw that with Darnold. My issue is the same problems plagued us that have for the last few seasons. Our receivers are still struggling to gain separation and the ones who can are banged up and missing time. This is on our GM. He took enormous risks with this receiving core and traded away a hell of a lot for a young rookie QB.

I’ll reiterate, I’m well aware he was without Chark, and TMJR in particular was awful on multiple occasions.

And yet you saw the need to title the thread “Teddy Vibes”. I saw a couple of the never Brycers make the comparison. Makes me think you didn’t watch when Bridgewater was here.

When people hear Teddy Bridgewater they envision tossing a weak pass at or behind the line of scrimmage when the team is down one or two possessions and the offense needs chunk plays. Bryce Young has played one regular season game. Safe to say it's very premature to even be mentioning Teddy right now.

The chart itself gives me Teddy vibes, yes.

I watched every snap Teddy played. And I was very much neutral during the draft season, evenly split between Stroud and Young.

risk adverse point guard type.

it’s like the gunslinger tier.  It’s a wide range of QBs and they aren’t created equal.   Good and bad variety.

but Bryce Young will need weapons in the NFL.  Simple as that.  And he has really nothing.  And you want him to be able to finish drives and come in during clutch time.   But yeah, there are definitely some similarities in style of QB.

if you got bland offensive skill talent you need a playmaker QB.  That’s a Cam.

Nothing wrong with a risk adverse point guard.  You just want Bryce to be the high end version, which wasn’t Teddy.

People hear point guard and think Steph Curry.  Steph is a playmaker.  Think more John Stockton.

Seems like everyone with an ax to grind are coming out of the woodwork to complain about their same old issues legitimate or not.

While I dont have an agenda, I am always glad to give my 2 cwntssolicited or otherwise

.What I saw was a quarterback who started off pretty well but after those picks became tentative and held the ball. Sometimes we had folks open early but Bryce held the ball hoping for more seperation which in fact gVe defenders time to recover. On those long balls Young was putting them way out in front rather than giving them air for the receiver to catch up if necessary.  Totally understandable for a  rookie qb playing in his first action.  Hopefully he will bounce back and play better on Monday night. I have heard it said that teams make the most progress between week 1 and 2.  We will see shortly.

    • I am really sorry  that  happened to you they say to never meet your sports heroes i have friends who met  mickey mantle when they were young and he was a belligerent alcoholic at the time  ut broke their hearts  I had the opportunity to meet and spend  time with Cam Newton.     He was the polar opposite of Steve Smith and his public image.   Polite.  Honest when asked question.  You could tell the things that mattered to him and the things that  didnt. The disappointments in himself and the things that hurt him  those qualities make him quite a good interviewer too  i genuinely liked him   Im sure as young, rich, sports hero, he has not been a choir boy but there is goodness in him  the time i met him i took one of my friends with me from the west coast. She said she didn't like him and wasn’t enthusiastic about meeting him.  She left loving him   No one can say anything bad about ‘her Cam’ anymore
    • Agree about oline. They've tried their best to improve that area. But honestly, has it looked like the most expensive oline in the NFL to you? Not just with Bryce. With Dalton's one game where they almost got the old man killed.  Also YAC shouldn't always be hitting a guy in stride while he's running full speed. Pickens killed us after the catch and those weren't all hit-in-stride plays. I remember a play in Miami when a guy caught a 5 yards curl and took it like 30-40 yards to the house. We don't have that in Carolina. Horn might be the closest thing to that but he can't get significant PT for whatever reason. If Bryce keeps trusting his receivers to make plays, I think he'll become more consistent. Seemed like he only trusted TMac. And force feeding one receiver isn't sustainable. Defenses will start to blanket him and take him out of the game. And yeah, keep taking deep shots. I hate all that dink and dunk football. Hate it.
    • Dan Marino sucked too I guess. Washed up Elway carried by Terrell Davis was actually better than prine Elway. Lol
