Visions of early Thomas Davis mismanagement IMO.  Thomas Davis only became a real monster when he moved and really got comfortable at LB.   It took almost a decade for TD to actually be a monster

A decade? A decade in he was playing in the Superbowl with a broken arm.

2007 and 2008 is when he started to really perform before losing nearly 3 consecutive seasons to injury. 2012 when he returned for a full season he was on fire

He might have played a few games ever at safety. He was a linebacker most of the time even in his rookie season. He was a linebacker in the season opener of his rookie season.. no idea what history these guys are following here

Any time we ran 3-3 or had Luvu as a pass rusher Chinn went inside as our second linebacker.

On top of that... Whenever Drake London was in the slot... guess who we manned up against him.... Jeremy Chinn... How many catches did London have? If Chinn wasn't on London he was on Bijan.

Just crazy the disrespect that is getting put on Chinn in this thread.

To be fair he looked like CJ Henderson on this play covering Pitts

You can cherry pick a play from almost every player in the league and say they looked bad.  Sauce got worked by diggs the other night and was lost on a play… does that mean he is bad in coverage?

Chinn is once again an overhyped player. We continue to paint these guys as stars and they are not that.

Chinn is a hybrid S/LB who should be used on blitzes or in the box. He's not a DB.

If Chinn is a DB we are going to get torched in the passing game.

He's not overhyped, he's misused.

He's excellent around the LOS. If you're calling defences that ask him to carry a WR 20 yards down the field then you need to have your play calling duties removed.

He's a LB all day, imo.

He was a hybrid player as a rookie. They moved him to S full time last year.

You totally need to teach Evero how to call a defense. Help him out

Sauce has a whole year of dominant film to support him being good in coverage. That’s not been the case for Chinn recently. If Sauce gets cooked a bunch this year then we would have to revisit. But I don’t think we should even be placing Sauce and Chinn anywhere near the same conversation. Again, this isn’t some trick play or a double move, it was one cut and he was lost.

Well, Sauce is an elite CB and Chinn is a S/LB hybrid so that makes sense.

People aren't going to let a pesky little thing like the truth get in the way of their feelings and uninformed opinions.

A whole game/seasons of Chinn doing solid in coverage but the one play he got beat on Sunday is going to be held up as the norm. 🙃

You chose to avoid understanding my point. I believe you are wrong and I don’t think I am alone on this one.
