I loved the way Smith just stared at Andrea Kremer after saying "89."

It was so good to see Smith back to "his old self".

When will these players learn that trash-talking Smitty is about the worst thing they can do?

You can't ask for one of the best WR in the NFL than Smitty. I'm glad we have a player that can help us win & is so fiery on wanting to wins. This is one of the reason he's the best player we ever have. Period. :thumbsup:

Smith attitude is something Carolina needs as a team. That competitive fire, that desire to prove oneself again and again is what makes him our star player.

On the other hand, our team and the high character players we have retained have been exactly what Smith has needed over the years. Without the likes of Kasay, Fox, Hoover, Moose and others, Smith might have been out of the league the first time he punched a teammate.

Hope he stays with us for a long time, for his sake and ours.

Did anyone else notice that after Smith finishes and sprints off towards the locker room, the aforementioned "#22" for Minnesota goes by in the opposite direction towards his locker room. Almost as if he hung around to get in a parting shot to Smitty. Or could be a coincidence.

Smith isn't the best. With respect to sheer talent, I might take Moss, Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson or CJ in his stead.

He is grossly underrated by most fans, though. If he played for any major franchise, he would be pampered by the media.

Smith is my favorite player for that reason. His passion and chip on his shoulder is what makes him as good as he is.

Personally I think Smith and Andre Johnson are the best. Both can make just freakish plays. I don't think Fitzgerald is one of the best at all really I think he's somewhat overrated. Every one got on his jock in the 08 post season. If he was the best than he should be close 2000 yds in a season with the type of offense they have in ARZ.

CJ is probably the most talented and will be the best in the next couple of years.

In judging how good a wide receiver is, it depends almost as equally on the guy throwing him the ball. In which case, Smith is easily arguable the best. Half the guys you named have questionable hall of famer QBs, I wouldn't even count those.

If Smitty was the #1 receiver in the Patriots, Cardinals or Texans offense, he would be putting up absurd stats. There's no doubt in my mind that if he was in that kind of system with a top tier QB throwing him the ball, he would outdo Moss, Fitzgerald and AJ in every statistical category. As it stands, however, he's here in Carolina, in a run-first offense with a slightly above-average QB (and before him, the worst QB in the league), constantly underrated by everyone outside of Carolina. I sure am glad he's here, though.

Yup. Just imagine if it was Smitty instead of Welker that Brady was throwing to. No knock on Welker, as I think he's as tough as they come, but the ways they find to get Welker the ball makes me wish we could do the same for Smith. He'd be back to leading the league in every category in no time, heh.
