I think the pot got stirred today by the Fox/Hurney braintrust stating the pablum on Delhomme.

It would be one thing if they just said '..all positions are to be evaluated after the season, no comment during the season..'; but, to give the 'we stand by our man speech', when 'our man' probably lost 4 games all by himself, well, that's a little too much for people to take.

...proably after spending the day with family too, didn't help.

If Meeks comes back next year he will field a top 10 defense for sure, maybe even top 5. I also don't think Davidson deserves the criticism he's received. Did anyone watch the Vikings game? It's obvious that with a reliable QB (not Jake), Davidson can call a good game and run a hell of an offense. Most of the problems the offense has had this year have been because our QB was completely awful.

Anyone who says "Fire Meeks" haven't been watching the games.

Our defense is great. Sure, the run D is suffering, but the pass defense has been great.

And ever with the Defense changing players every week, they've been adjusting. Lately, the Carolina D have been the most exciting parts to me.

My God man, Hurney, Fox and Delhomme all need to friggin go, along with the OC and DC and several assistants.

I am about at the point if they keep these assclowns around another season I am done for awhile. Drastic changes need to be made and made in just a couple weeks.

based on your dislike, i'm assuming whenever you need an oil change for your car you also change your ecu, headlights, transmission, wheels, and ignition.

remember, when your tail light bulb burns, you only replace the pair, not every single bulb. delhomme is the burnt bulb but fox is the other bulb that needs to go with the bad one. thats it. no need for other changes.

Thats not how the NFL works, unless the new coach is already in the organization.

most of the time in the NFL (but not all the time... Look at the Steelers for an example), when a HC is fired or walks, all his coordinators do too... plus the guy everyone wants in here has his coordinators all lined up, so we'd lose Meeks, Davidson, Hurney etc probably...

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
