You don't have to be an asshole.  And no, there is no official NFL farm system.  I assume you're talking about college football, but that is not the same.  MLB has the minor leagues, NBA has the G League.  What does the NFL have?  All the other sports also play in college, but then they also have legit professional farm systems.

I'm not sure it'll ever really work to have an official farm system for pro football.  For instance, guys in baseball get drafted out of high school to play single and double A ball.  By the time a prospect is in his mid 20s, you typically know if they're going to make it in the majors or not.  Thats essentially the same age football players come out of college.  Combine that with the fact that football players have the shortest career by far, and I'm not sure there's a big use case for a traditional farm system.

You're probably right, however I know that this XFL, USFL poo ain't it.  It never works, has never worked, and will never work.  How many 1 off seasons have these leagues had, and then they fold?

I'm wishing it the best. Birmingham Stallion games are half entertaining and good atmosphere. For only $10 for General Admission not much better to do for a few hours in the area. It just looks bad when there are 17,000 fans there playing in the brand new UAB stadium that holds 45,000. (Its half empty when they play too)

Im shocked any of those games can pull in 17,000 people.  Thats actually not half bad.

I like it! The only knock I had on watching the XFL was the limited competition pool. Immediately doubling the size of the league already makes it more interesting.

Smaller stadiums, good atmosphere, I think there's definitely an appetite for it. Glorified farm system or not, I just like watching football in the offseason.

IMO this new league has an opportunity to prosper. First of all because all the betting junkies can help keep it alive when the NFL is in its offseason, and two it can be an affordable event for people to attend. 

If they play their marketing right, it can turn into something nice.

If players could have an option of a developmental league and skip the college thing all together it could potentially work. Also would get rid of the BS academic qualifications we all know are a joke anyway. If a player is balling out in the developmental league, he could just be signed by a team and not have to go through the draft process, etc.

most SEC players  already are “skipping college”

      Rookie season being key to uour argument. I didn't at all mislead about the talent Cam had to work with. Kalil was a great center. Olsen was a great TE. Our WRs were probably the worst in the league. Cam still won MVP, we went 15-1, and we went to the SB. Your attempt to bring up Cam to defend Bryce is desperate and clownish. Bryce has more talent to work with and has done WAY less.

      Not exactly sure that is an honest assesment of the talent he had to work with that year. Olsen had over 1100 yards that season making the PB, Stewart had close to 1100 total yards also going to the PB. He had Kalil at C who went to the PB, Trai Turner at RG who also went to the PB, and Michael Oher at LT who played well enough that the Panthers offered him a new contract the following year. I wouldn't call that a trash OL. Steve Smith (PB), Greg Olsen (PB), Brandon LaFell, Ted Ginn JR, Deangelo Williams (PB), Jonathan Stewart (PB), Jordan Grossn (PB), Ryan Kalil (PB) on the offensive side and then he had Luke Kuechly (PB), Jon Beason (PB), Thomas Davis (PB), Star Lotulelei, Kawann Short ( PB ),Charles Johnson, Greg Hardy (PB ), Mike Mitchell, Josh Norman (PB)  For comparison, here is who Young had his first year.  Chuba Hubbard, DJ Chark, Jonathan Mingo, Adam Thielen, Hayden Hurst, Ikem Ekwonu, Chandler Zavala, Bradley Bozeman, Nash Jensen and Taylor Morton. Not a single PB player on the list and most of them aren't even playing any longer. Additionally, his HC was fired during the season and the defense was as bad as the offense.  You might not like the comparison but saying Newton had to completely carry the offense isn't exactly fair to the 4 pro bowlers on offense who played with him that year.
