Schefter tweeted Cowher wants to be back in nfl in 2010

I don't think any coach would completely overhaul a talented defensive scheme upon arrival here. He'd maybe tweak it to make it better but he's not going to scrap it to fit his ego. I think Cowher would look at what he has, make tweaks to make it better and run with it. But Fox will be here so it's a moot point.

I kind of feel the same. If Fox has to go, then I would almost prefer we promote from within. The team seems to be really clicking right now. I hope that will carry over to next year.

Plus imo Cowher will not be much of an improvement anyway.

I agree with this.

The team is looking great out there. I would prefer we keep Fox, and I believe we will be. :)

And let him get a extension no thanks! Bring in a new Coach and he could win with the team we have.

Exactly. Fox is the reason why we are in the poo hole we are in now. He kept feeding us the bullsh*t that Jake gave us the best chance to win. Most of the games had bad play calling. As usual, he doesn't start calling good games and having a better gameplan until AFTER we are out of the playoff hunt. He has been too stubborn and Foxball has got to come to an end.

I said a few weeks ago I didn't care if we went 8-8 and I still don't. John Fox and Jake Delhomme both need to go...ESPECIALLY if we can get Bill Cowher.

Let Moore have a shot to compete with whoever we draft and hire Bill Cowher. I don't see how losing to the Bills and finishing 8-8 with a team that is obviously as talented as any team in the playoffs is enough to save your job.

If we had gone to Matt Moore 5 weeks ago and were sitting at 9-6 right now instead of 7-8 then it'd be a different story. But guess what...that didn't happen and once again we are out of the playoffs.

Not to mention I wouldn't put it past Fox to bench Moore in favor of Delhomme in training camp...Which would be enough for me to just give up on Panthers football in 2010.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
