It's. Not. The. Same. Thing.

Continuing to say this doesn't make it true.

We threw a lot of screens, Chargers threw a lot of screens. I dont know how that isnt true? Reich was specifically asked about the screen game...

Chargers LOS passes: 13
Panthers LOS passes: 14

Reich said "we saw what the Chargers did last week" and I am just sharing we did the exact same thing.

Ok.  Not sure what point you're really making here.  I don't think anyone would argue against the fact that short passes occur all the time, literally no one.  What everyone is discussing here is that Bryce cannot attempt, much less complete a deep pass.  So to have that discussion you hold up a Herbert straw man that literally has nothing to do with Bryce not passing deep?

All the Bryce stans blamed our play calls and receivers for the first two weeks.  Then when Dalton showed both the calls and receivers could work, they blamed Seattle's defense even though it was clearly a strong defensive showing in a very hostile environment.  Finally, BY goes back in against another very poor defense at BoA and suddenly we can't complete a downfield pass....again....and we're throwing up Herbert pass chart comparisons.  This is all just intellectually dishonest.  Bryce can be bad and still have potential at the same time, but pretending this is all normal is not how I see it.

I am not making any point but sharing the chart that relates to what Reich said in his presser. you all are looking for more. I am sharing the game plan we took it from.

Except you have no clue what game plan we took from it, you can only hypothesize based on a comment.  You're not in the headset hearing which calls BY is deciding to kill, kill kill.  Our plan may have been to challenge the field periodically and it just never happened.  That's my hypothesis and it's worth as much as yours.

One threatened down field and threw downfield successfully. The other didn't even threaten. You don't have to chuck the ball downfield constantly but you do have to demonstrate a competent vertical threat. This is like day two of Offensive Football 101.

it's pretty simple.. they even went in detail on this last night during the chiefs v jets game. It's a run and pass thats called. You kill one to go to the other. This is the coaching staff attempting to simplify the audibles at the line.

The plays are there... the protection is not

Maybe it was 3/5 and the one I'm counting as the 6th on that chart was 19 yards and 35 inches.

The point is that you have to THREATEN deep and we don't. If you don't make the D respect that you can burn them deep it's going to be really tough to move the football.

DJ Chark is literally a deep ball specialist.

The excuses really need to stop. This chart isn't showing what you think. It's quite the opposite. The threat of the deep ball opens up opportunities underneath. You don't have to chuck it 20+ a dozen times a game. But you do have to show the willingness to do it and show some effectiveness at doing it to make the D respect it.

Yup. the modern NFL isn't about airing it out all the time, but rather being able to take credible shots at times throughout a game which may or may not hit AND (perhaps more importantly) capitalizing if/when coverages allow or break down. Points are hard ot come by and getting easy ones, be it on that play or as a result of a *true* deep field-flipping connection (none of this "20 air yards is a deep ball" nonsense") .

It's more and more about getting the ball out fast but if you can't establish the threat of a vertical game and basically turn the entire field into a redzone scenario then it gets really hard. You're just not forcing the defense to account for the deep third of the field.

That's a really good point. We are basically playing Redzone offense even between the 20s.
