Jeudy is NOT a #1 WR

Seriously people, we need to stop with this nonsense that he's a #1 and is worth going after.  He's still living off his reputation as being from Alabama, a 1st round pick, and having the skills you want in a #1.

But he's in his 4th season and hasn't come close to living up to any of it.

In his first 3 years he had totals of 856, 467, and 972 yards with 9 total TDs (3 of them came in one game).

He has 5 career 100 yard games, with 2 of them coming in the final game of the season in both 2020 and 2022, so decent chance those were against scrub backups who were still playing at that point.

He has 7 career games over 77 yards receiving.... let me repeat that... in 44 career games, he's only been able to top 77 yards SEVEN times, and one of them was the 70-20 blowout to Miami 2 weeks ago and he was still only able to get 81 yards in a pass heavy game script.

And all of that is before you even get to his well known reputation for being a hothead and a diva.  You can't be a Stefon Diggs if you don't put that production out there on the field.

Also to everyone saying "well we don't hit on our draft picks so why not give up a 3rd for him", you either don't realize or ignore the fact that he has $13 million guaranteed next year.  There is not reason to give away what little draft capital we have left while also eating into our cap room that we finally will have for the first time in forever.

He would be an attempted fix at WR in the same way that Two Gloves, Darnold, and Baker were at QB... someone who costs draft assets and too much money for players who have never performed to their draft status and we think we can fix, we have to learn from our past mistakes and stop making them over and over again.

I'm more puzzled about the rumor of Burns for Jeudy. Like in what world would we entertain that.smh

If they can swap Burns for Jeudy they'd be ecstatic, especially since Mims is the better receiver. It's the only reason I have for why SP won't play Mims. They need Jeudy to do something so they can trade him.

That makes sense for them. For us not so much. I would hope we get a 2nd round pick with Jeudy.

I think a lot of the problem is reports were saying a “top tier wr” and “no.1 wr”, Jeudy isn’t that. If they trade burns for him, they better get some picks back in return.

He isn't worth 13 mil in dead money either but he is the kind of poo the people running the team love so it's bound to happen. 

He is worth a 6th if you have to eat that dead money next year IMO. That's like the last pick in the 5th round

Agreed.

 

I was thinking a 3rd or 4th for Jeudy not Burns lol.

 

If we trading Burns it needs to be for a true #1.

If we're trading Burns it needs to be at the deadline to a team that is in serious SB contention like the Rams thought they were. Trading him now would only yield less and at 0-4 and already realistically out of the playoff hunt given what we've seen so far and based on history, we won't get max value. Personally, I don't want Tepper, his wife, Fitts or Frank making a pick next year.

Nico Collins - 2021 446 yards, 1 TD, best game 69 yards / 2022 481 yards, 2 TD, best game 82 yards

Shouldn't our stud franchise savior be able to launch Jeudy the way Stroud has launched Nico?

The deadline is only about 3.5 weeks away, any team that thinks they are serious contenders this year would make the same trade right now as they would in a few weeks.

I think trading him now is the way to go, while teams might still be tricking themselves into thinking they're legit contenders, like the Rams last year.

That way there is a chance the team we trade him to ends up falling apart and that first round pick is in the first half of the round instead of the back end of it.  The longer we wait, the more likely the best offers come from teams who actually will make deep playoff runs.

Maybe a team like the Titans could be fooled into thinking they need to upgrade their pass rush to contend, maybe we could do something like Burns and TMJ for 2024 1st, Tryelon Burks, and a 2nd or 3rd on top.

Nico Collins wasn't the 15th pick of the draft, he was a 3rd rounder who has never been the focal point of their offense until this year.

Jeudy has been the focal point of the Broncos passing attack since they drafted him and still can't live up to his 1st round draft pick.

If Sean Payton doesn't want to keep him while trying to rejuvenate the offense, that alone should tell you everything you need to know about his potential to be a #1 WR in this league.

      How did this “innovative” narrative start with Canales? Just because he’s young? He truly wants to run the ball and nothing Tampa did last year was all that creative. Mike Evans ability to win 1 on 1 does wonders for an offense as a whole

      Initially, I wanted Stroud but I thought the trade up meant that, whoever they chose, it was for a reason.  There was no pressure to do anything for the entire scouting team to do other than investigate every aspect of the top 3 candidates.  Stroud had his question marks, and I think it is possible that he falters this year.  Bryce had a much worse situation here in Carolina because we neglected the OL, traded our #1 WR, did not pick WRs well in the draft, traded our pro bowl RB, and seem to disregard the TE position altogether.  Bozeman was not a good fit and we relied on an improved OL in 2022 to suggest that we were set there when we were far from it.  Fitterer had no vision, no grasp of talent, and everyone in the front office and on the coaching staff were pretending to be gurus.  Our coaching staff was a group of men earning a lifetime achievement paycheck.  It all goes back to the years of neglect for the OL.  My theory?  If Stroud had come to Carolina, he would be as mocked and ridiculed as Bryce Young.   No, he does not have a cannon.  Chad Pennington was a weak-armed QB who had success and would have been even better if it were not for injuries.  Smarts is important at QB, and so are mechanics.  Before you can address Young's mechanics, he needs an OL, Running game, and weapons. We were not really able to run play action from under center for a few reasons--play action is not effective when you have to pass the ball--other than that, the QB must turn his back to the LOS for about 1.5 seconds.  When the QB has less than 2.5 seconds to pass the ball, that eliminates that part of the play book.  Heck, even the run option is minimized when there is immediate facial pressure.  SO those who want to talk about happy feet, bouncing, etc--they are symptoms of the problem, not the problem.  A weak arm?  Well, Young's arm is between Chad Pennington and Joe Montana--closer to Joe.  His are is not as weak as some think--but he has issues with the deep ball. When you are reacting to the defense and quickly have to pass, then that takes away the strength because you don't have the base to get power behind it.  I still wish we had taken Stroud, but we have Young and if you toss him out before giving him support, you are not wise, unsmart, not unfoolish, and rather elite in your failure to attain mediocrity.  Expect growth.  How much? Nobody knows.
