4 completions of 15+ air yards…

progress…I guess

looks better than 10 behind the LOS screen passes, but the lions were in prevent D for most of the 4th. Young looked decent there, good/bad its seems panthers will continue to be down 3 scores in the 4th.

I find it interesting that alot of people have been saying he doesn’t have the arm strength to throw outside. A lot of throws to the outside here.

0 completions behind the line of scrimmage. More passes down the field. Yea we lost, but he pretty much answered the criticisms of his chart last week.

Oh god. We now have people clinging to 5-10 yard passes to "prove" that Bryce can throw outside. Let me see him throw one deep out. It's gonna be a pick six, but let's see it.

I mean at this point if you want to continue to find fault with your rookie QB then you can do that. Definitely you’re right as a fan. Can’t tell you how to cope with rooting for this sorry ass team. But it’s alot more fun to be a believer.

I’m more of a realist than simply a blind homer.   And the realist in me, through 5 games sees that Bryce doesn’t have it.  And all things considered it starts and ends with him.

I think you’re probably looking at Bryce through that lens so that’s what you’ll always see. Wins and losses aside he’s probably going to end the year with stats comparable to some guys who turned out pretty good.

Maybe but thats not going to change his ability to throw or run.  He isnt strong enough or fast enough to beat defenders and thats a problem.  And why people still try and compare him to other rookies who have succeeded is moronic IMO because there are infinitely more rookies with similar numbers that never got better and simply busted.  But cherry picks the aikmans, mannings or whoever if that is going to make you feel better.   Kid looks way in over his head at this point and that isnt really debatable

I’m starting to worry Bryce is locking onto Thielen a bit too much already. Mingo is wide ass open here and coming underneath Thielen. The pocket was fine and Bryce could’ve given this ball to Mingo pretty much at any point. Had he waited a split second more for Mingo to cross Thielen its a walk in score. Even if he threw it to him before Mingo has a chance to take it in himself

Yeah, he has some issues that will need correction. I am not off the Bryce bandwagon yet but he was not the advertised "most ready to play" guy. That was completely false.

I am fine with him learning this season. I am not gonna jump all over Bryce. I am going to be the first on the "Fire Reich" train, however.

This guy has to fuging go. I mean ASAP.

At this point I am inclined to side with you on this and think that Frank has been a detriment to Bryce.  I think they have scripted crap for him to a point that it is hindering his ability to perform and that scripting often goes awry.   He definitely has some things to work on and there are many questions/concerns but it seems like we are watching the same game every week.  Get down to or near the red zone.  Team has momentum on the back of a good play.  There is confusion, play clock goes down to 2 seconds and burn a time out.  That seems to be a regular theme.  They pulled Bryce on 4th and 1 and let Dalton do the sneak yesterday.  Got the first down and I think the very next play he was in on there was some last second crap again where they were late getting lined up. That stuff needs to be a lot more crisp and until it is the game will not flow for him.

    • @ForJimmy--I watched his '24 highlights and there's a lot to like.  He's mobile, for certain, but it seems that's his default because he's so good at it.  Lots of RPO stuff.  He's slippery in the pocket, but too quick to vacate it.  I saw very few pocket throws into tight windows, which is the hallmark of an elite QB, especially at the next level.  Green is a playmaker, there's no denying that.  I thought his arm was adequate to above average.  I assumed a big QB like that would have a cannon.  Ball placement was also above average. He's an intriguing prospect, but I'm not sure he's going to end up a top 10 prospect and that's where we are most certainly going to be picking.  If Sellers doesn't come out, he's probably the next best dual threat QB.
    • I was right there with you. I hoped for the best and tried to support once he was drafted. But the media created legend of Bryce Young the draft prospect was honestly like nothing I've ever seen. For a kid who didn't even play all that particularly great for Alabama (Mac Jones was the better college QB and it really wasn't close) he received an insane level of benefit of the doubt. From his supposed elite football IQ elite processing elite preparation elite field general abilities elite leadership yada yada the guy could do absolutely no wrong. Even when he showed up to the combine and hid out in a hoodie refusing to throw nobody batted an eye. And even after that he was still compared to current and past hall of famers in the NFL and other sports across the spectrum. If he didn't play for Saban and Alabama it would have been and would be right now completely different in the way he was and is perceived. But again. I've never seen anything like it for other prospects that I can think of in recent memory. Others have been dissected in some way or another. Maybe the only other comparison I would make would be Andrew Luck. But Luck had the necessary physical intangibles that Bryce Young very plainly lacked when you sit down and watch the tape. It was crazy then and it is still crazy now. 🤷‍♂️
    • Yeah I didn’t remember how many guys were on offense besides him that were taken but did figure he was facing one, maybe two guys that would be drafted from whatever defense it he was playing. Then the out of conference games against smaller schools that are basically exhibitions, sheesh, you know they can feast.    The other thing is, out of those 62, how many really had NFL bodies at that point? Few of them. Most will be different players after a year of NFL training and body development. So you have to think about what the difference is. Even with the SEC guys that got taken, they will be better in the pros too. So when you factor all that in, and look at the Bryce tape and the Bryce pro day and whatever, I just will never understand why.
