The Titans have something to work with though. Levis certainly looks better than Tannehill and Mike's better than Willis. They just need to focus on developing him the rest of the season to try to figure out if he's their guy moving forward or if they need to be looking QB early again.

Yeah he has shades of Darnold. Good arm, you can script some stuff with him and he'll make some good throws but there will be picks

It’s crazy how consistent Mike Tomlin is.

It is. Pickett is not good but they are 5-3. It’s like smoke and mirrors but they always keep games close and always seem to have a good enough D. Roethlisberger became a shell of himself and Pickett has not been a top QB but he still hasn’t gone below .500. He’s pretty impressive. The only knock right now is that he doesn’t have the offensive talent, which is why they only have one “good” season in the last 6 years. They did sneak a second time into the playoffs but that was more due to Lamar getting hurt. They haven’t won a playoff game since 2016. They’ve been competitive but that drop at the QB spot (and WR) has kept them from being contenders. It’ll be interesting how long the keep with Pickett.

I can see the Steelers targeting a guy like Jayden Daniels this next draft.  They need to go for the boom/bust type at QB.

The post-Ben era has been a lot of guys who have super apparent, limited skillsets and meh ceilings.  Rudolph, Trubisky, Pickett, time for them to take a gamble at QB.

Pickett ain't it. That's for sure. Hell, that was for sure when he was playing in college at Pitt. I have no idea how the Steelers deluded themselves into that blunder. They've been so good for so long by avoiding dumbass mistakes like that.

That's a crazy stat.

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/steelers-are-5-3-despite-having-fewer-yards-than-opponent-every-week-this-season

Through 8 games, the Steelers have been out gained in yardage 8 times yet they're 5-3.

16 straight seasons without a losing record isn't luck.  Mike Tomlin frankly still doesn't get the proper respect he deserves in Pittsburgh.

If they had drafted a certain guy who is 6th in the league in passing yards and passing TDs like I thought they were going to they're probably legit contenders.

    • Dude is a debt collector. Fug them both. I asked why anyone cared about this guy at that time and all I got back was he was a local to some people so rah rah. Ok cool.  I agree about the JR part but I have zero reasons to care about Nevaro anymore than Tepper. His kid plays tennis and dad was an old coach. Cool. It's the NFL, they don't sell to great people and there is only 1 team run in the way I would be happy to see which the NFL will never allow again. IMO there was never a good option in that sale.
    • What does Bryce's dad being a psychologist have to do with anything?  Does phycologist proximity make everyone within the aura also qualified to be a phycologist?  Could you just visit a phycologist and become one or does he need to be your Dad?  Are all phycologist equal?  Do any have their own baggage or bias or all they all just perfectly balanced human opinions because they have an education? Also I'm fairly confident, that "Because my Dad said so" doesn't garner much respect in the huddle. Beyond that, I think you're reading Clowney's response wrong anyway.  I think he's saying in the kindest way possible that BY9 hasn't taken command of the team.
    • IDK about that mattering at all in the Panthers sale. This team and it's location affected the interested buying parties. Maybe Tepper would have bought DC but then they could have had another Tepper ready to buy us for 3.85 billion less than the DC sale, whoever took his place in Pitt like he did for Haslam. Neither the Denver (2 billion more) or DC group moved on the Panther's sale. Plus JR was ready to sale before he was pushed out, that was his plan with the NFL which is mandatory to have a clear ownership plan in place, so it wasn't a shock that he was selling.  There is only 1 team that can escape the good old boys club unfortunately. Maybe everyone knew it was gifted to Tepper from the get go or maybe the bigger groups just saw it as not nearly as desirable as Denver or DC. Maybe it's a bit of both.
