That's a problem no matter where it happens.

It's one of the things that was the hardest for me to learn in business. You hire people who excel in certain areas. I can't know everything. My job is to manage the people. Letting go, especially for a control freak, is extremely difficult to do.

BUT...

Per his own words, Reich stated that he wanted to tailor the scheme to fit the players rather than the other way around.

It doesn't look like he's doing that.

The question becomes what will they do in the coming offseason?

You certainly can't install an entirely new offense in the middle of the year, but you can tailor the attack to your personal plenty over a full offseason.

That, or you can make some changes to the line so that they better fit what you want to run.

Which is what makes it even more confusing. We have a line built to run over people but instead are one of the highest passing teams in the league.

it's weird, it's almost like coaches and teams just sell you a bunch of bologna publicly they want you to believe.  Not that it's all rooted in truth.  So maybe you can't put much stock in their words. 

I got this weird deja vu feeling.

Regardless of who's calling the plays...

I know people were looking for the switch from Reich to Brown to make a big difference, it really didn't.

The playbook is the playbook and it's built around these complicated blocking schemes that don't play to our lines strengths. Changing playcallers wasn't going to change much if you're still reading from the same book.

It doesn't look like he's doing that.

It is only tailored to fit Bryce. This is where most of the problem is coming from. We cannot keep running this and taking 4-6 sacks with another 10 knockdowns every game. Our team is not built for this system outside of BY.

I'd say the receiver spot could be an issue there as well.

What you want ideally in a WCO is a set of receivers who have great run after the catch ability.

I don't see very much of that on our team.

We have more of the run away from the ball kind of WRs and slow ass Thielen

      I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.

      Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.

      This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
