How much smarter is the GM then the fans

Again, not just any random fan off a message board. But there are fans out there who are knowledgeable enough to do better than some GMs.

I think they'd need someone to help with the salary cap side of things and maybe with the actual negotiations until they gained some experience, but in terms of deciding what players to bring in, draft and trade for I have no doubt there are fans who could do a better job then many GMs.

Maybe on an occasional pick or two, but building a complete franchise? No.

Some of these guys have been in scouting (starting frequently as interns) for ten to twenty years, and even then it's not easy.

I'm sure there are guys do some occasional carpentry and/or home maintenance that think they could build a house just as well as any master builder, but if I'm having a house built, I'm sure as hell not hiring those guys to build it.

The correct answer is "a lot".

Even the worst GMs and personnel people in the league know infinitely more about football than the average fan.

Then why do some of them fail so badly then?

I agree that most fans don't know as much as they think, but to think some fans wouldn't do as well as some GMs is ludicrous.

If some Gm is only correct 1/8 times do you really think some fan couldn't pull that off?

Because it isn't their job to be better than us. That'd be easy. They have to be better than thirty plus other GMs.

I'm sure I could play chess with a group of fans like me, but stick me in the world championships and I'd be toast.

But they aren’t better than 30.  I’m not saying most fans would be better than the best GMs, I’m saying there are some fans that would do as well or even better than the worst GMs.

Yeah...no.

This isn't Madden. You have to build a roster of 53 guys, a practice squad, account for injuries, head cases, etc.

Random internet guy isn't gonna succeed at that.

I know we got Mingo because of the impression he made in his visit, and he does technically fit in a wCO as a possession type.

But Josh Downs and Tank Dell would both have been pure WCO burners, especially Dell.

It seems our FO has put far more importance on the ability to interview vs actual football skills. GM, coaches, players, good interview regardless of talent - you're hired. Bad interview regardless of talent - no thanks.

Agreed. I still think there are some huddlers (a very small few) that would do better than what Fitt has done.

im def not one lol, but there has been a few on here who I’d put up against Fitt.

    • Try to reduce the amount of soda that you consume on a daily basis. Soda is packed with sugars and carbohydrates, which can cause cause a poor reaction with your skin. Instead of soda, try drinking water or flavored water as an alternative to your meals during the day or night. Try using some kind of mist moisturizer instead of just using plain water. Plain water only hydrates your skin for a short while and will end up drying out your skin. Moisturizing your skin with a mist form of it is a lot easier to apply then a topical cream. Finding the right product for your skin type is a very important factor in making your skin look nice and healthy. If you have dry skin, you would not want to use products that were designed for oily skin. Make sure you research what the products you use are for, and your skin will thank you for it. After you take a shower or a bath or just wash your face, pat dry with a soft towel. Vigorous rubbing will damage the skin. In addition, leaving a little bit of water on your skin will help keep it from drying out and make it easier to apply an after-shower moisturizer. • I was thinking Adoree too. I don't want to fixate on one specific guy, just go get the best cost option for this year and roll with it
    • Why did you say injury prone?
