Re-watching some of these pressers, it’s insane how much the coaches talk about the pre-draft evaluations.  It’s all about questions, understanding, learning, knowledge, processing, follow-up questions.

Like football is a physical sport.  What about THROWING at the actual combine?

I remember Gruden interviewing Cam and he didn’t know s**t when it came to Pro NFL X’s and O’s…but dude was a monster.

Here’s a presser from McCown from the preseason.  In hindsight it reads a little different.

I just find it interesting how people are trying to make it a “they wanted stroud” thing.

Wilks did the same thing last year with staff so it’s not surprising.

I think it's fairly safe to say McCown wanted Stroud, but I don't know if that has anything to do with his firing.

Staley? No idea who he wanted, or if he even had a preference.

Agreed, I will argue that Staley is the reason we went after Miles Sanders more than anyone If you wanted to give him some negative ticks.

If you watch that interview, McCown refers to Bryce “downloading” their new system at least 8 times.  He says “processing” a million times.  They talk “footwork” once, but glance over it.

NFL quarterbacking is not a test, when do we throw the actual football?

I don’t even know what to think, this is a mess.

    • Yeah I think he's just talking continuity it's not really an endorsement. Also I would think CarolinaHuddle of all places would understand using "we" for the team you follow. I can't STAND when dorks do the "Oh so you play for them then? Hurr hurr"
    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
