I think it's a pretty tall order to expect any win with what's the worst team in the league operating under the worst owner in North American professional sports. I didn't expect another win after October, and I'm going to enjoy this one. I fully expect another significant step back this weekend, but who knows.

Having covered that, let's extrapolate "coping" once again:

Being happy about a win and giving credit to players who did well, once again, by definition, is not "coping" -- however, twisting one's words ("multiple improved performances" was referring to improved performances from multiple players) so one can shift the goalposts to a more familiar slant (no touchdowns since Nov. 19 I guess negates anyone I don't like having a good game) is, in fact coping -- because it's your method of coming to grips with a fact (one or more players whom you don't like did well) that contrasts with your preferred stance (people you don't like shouldn't be given credit).

"Coping" in my case, would be saying "well, we won in spite of the left tackle again," because I'm not the biggest fan of Ickey. However, he was one of the guys who improved. So he, like Young and Mingo, deserve credit for that.

You are very bothered by that word.

Our owner being a shithead doesn't mean we have to have one of the most impotent offenses in years. Unfortunately as much as you are triggered by the conversation that begins with our QB. He looked much better as a passer this past weekend and as such voila look at that Mingo and Chark aren't total trash like some people have been saying for weeks now.

If we're talking about giving credit then Derrick Brown is one of the few bright spots and a big reason why we've even been in the last few games. If I'm making a list he's at the top pretty much every time. He's the best player on this team.

You and a handful of others on here use the term "coping" entirely too much. More often than not, it's used inaccurately.

As far as Brown is concerned, I will go on record as saying I would sign Brown to a big extension and look to trade Burns under two conditions:

1) There's at least one first-round pick as well as a high second-round pick or comparable player coming back,

2) Scott Fitterer will not be the one choosing the players with said picks.

So now we're worried about twisting words, eh? Interesting.

Brown should and will be paid big.

Burns may be loathed by many people here but he is still regarded as a legitimate talent around the league and he has value. His antics have been concerning but the team has also been a dumpster fire at times and the offense has often given the defense little to play for. Then there is the matter of Scott Fitterer's overall management of this situation which has left quite a lot to be desired to say the least. If you turn down a haul for a guy and then just turn around and make him disgruntled you are a total buffoon.

I have to think Fitterer is on his way out. I shudder to consider the possibility of him bumbling his way through yet another draft and free agency.

I don't know how much is Fitterer's own incompetence, and how much is Tepper saying "I want this, get me this NOW." But if Tepper can't be canned, this is the next-best thing.

I wouldn't say I'm worried about them. I'm more focused on Preventing them. Maybe just Containing them well.

Ah yes another post with zero actual substance tripling down on BS. The last refuge of someone who knows they're wrong.

The irony is palpable.

At the huddle league meeting I vote that "cope" be autocorrected to "I'm wrong and have no other alternative argument"

In the Panthers only two wins on the season the offense mustered a combined 24 points. Our only touchdown against the Chicago Bears earlier in the season was an extremely rare special teams return.

Some of what we are seeing is akin to turd polishing. If acknowledging that hurts your feelings I am truly sorry bud.

    • The OL has certainly been better than the trainwreck it was three or four years ago. As far as competitiveness let's apply some realism and clarity here. Quite a bit of the competitiveness in 2025 came from the defensive side of the ball which gave up the most points in league history the year before and was one of the bottom 5 units in terms of salary cap allocation for 2025 while the OL was top 3. We had the 26th passing offense last year. And if not for a herculean couple of games from Rico Dowdle we don't back our way into the division title or make the playoffs because we went 4-6 in our final ten games including being swept by the Saints who were starting a rookie 2nd round pick most of us mercilessly mocked when they selected him. In conclusion yes we've seen a difference. The question now is will the investment pay off the way we want. But the only way that happens is if we field a top 15 offense. If we can't even crack the top 20 then there need to be some very warm seats across the board. And I would hope just about anyone here should agree with that.
    • These Spurs are lowkey loaded.  If healthy, they could win it all this year (#2 in the West right now). I still think we’ve gotta keep Kalk on Wemby; he’s not getting completely dominated like every other NBA center.
    • Am I the only one who doesn't understand this fan bases infatuation with adding a high end TE? Especially when we have some bigger bodies in T-Mac and Coker who can slide into the slot at times and provide the big dependable target over the middle that most teams use their TE for. I mean, sure, it would be nice to have one of those elite TE's, but I feel like that's a position your better off going cheap with a committee who each bring something different to the table while spending our cap room on the more important positions. I like the potential we saw from Evans this year, Sanders could be a best if he can stay healthy, and Tremble has improved as well.  Just feels like spending high draft picks or cap space on other needs and more important positions is a better use of our resources than splashing on a TE in the draft or FA. Are those guys on the level of the Bowers or McBride's of the world?  Of course not, but we also are paying a fraction of the cost on our TE room than they are, and we're able to use that money for other needs.
