My only question is why doesn't the NFL promote this guy more?

Just looking at the comments all off-season from different sites and even the huddle people were bashing this dude for no reason. I mean the injury prone comments were legit, but other than that people couldn't say anything about his game. Dude was winning 80% of his games with no weapons.

Lamar been legit people. Hopefully they start talking about him like they do with Mahomes/Allen/Burrow/Herbert.

Feels good when I got slandered in the off-season for simply suggesting we go after him.

Mr. Scot I'm talking to you!

He's not being talked about for the same reason Cam wasn't. Too much attitude for the owners.

Scot and myself were 2 of the biggest opponents to getting LJ for pretty much the same reasons. With all he was going to cost, how do you build around him? Once the tag was applied, he wasn't leaving the Ravens. It was just a matter of the guarantee on the contract. If someone had offered full guarantee, the Ravens would have matched it. It wouldn't have been worth it not to.

Prior to that, it would have been extremely difficult to do missing 1sts and 2nds for 3 years and some players, whoever that might have been, plus a hugely guaranteed contract that would have limited the ability to bring in talent.

Add into that Scott Fitterer as GM and you have a dumpster fire that makes this one look like a smoke bomb.

The only valid argument at the time(and it was) was having a fully guaranteed contract like that for a guy that had a sustained run of being injury prone.

In the end it was just poor timing fod being injured in relation to the contract coming up.

Which, it is kind of funny in hindsight because another mega-bucks QB signed around the same time, Joe Burrow, isn’t getting heat but he is CONSTANTLY injured and has missed a TON of time.

There is no denying Lamar is playing great right NOW I still think that Contract ages horribly.... qbs who run the ball as much as he does have a "Best if used by" date just like RBs.

Burrow isn't fully guaranteed and a big difference is his game isn't at risk of falling off a cliff with them.

Jackson has ALWAYS been able to throw, and prefers to throw from the pocket. Part of Burrow's game is his ability to scramble. So, basically I'm not buying it.

Lamar is much smarter about his running than Burrow, honestly. Much, much, MUCH smarter.

Lamar has been on record for years now saying he doesn’t want to run the ball all the time. Notice they don’t call a lot of designed runs and he does a much better job of avoiding getting creamed. He wasn’t like that earlier in his career.

Burrow takes way too much punishment inside and outside the pocket.

If we moved this back in time, people would probably say there was no way Andrew Luck would be out early with injury. But.....guess what happened.

Look at someone like Josh Allen. We have already seen what that did to Cam. Allen's days are numbered playing like he does. Cam thought he was Superman too.

No doubt I wouldn't want him on a long term fully guaranteed deal either....

I don’t have any major concerns with Lamar and his longevity. But, it only takes the right injury and that can change in a heartbeat.

But that is true of any QB. IMO, Lamar isn’t more prone than guys like Burrow or Allen who get the poo kicked out of them because of the way they play(I suspect Anthony Richardson will be on this list agter next season).

    • Well, they're both in the same league (if you will). During preseason, Fitz went 3/3 & Sauls went 5/6, but of course Sauls was 4/4 last night (including one 50+). Both were Lou Groza Award finalists. I believe Fitz made two 55+ yarders last season, while Sauls led the nation with three. Fitz was 13/13 (💯) while Sauls was 21/24 (87.5). Fitz was a 3rd-Team AP All-American, while Sauls was a PFF All-American.  Career-wise, Fitz was 58/74 (78.4), while Sauls was 52/64 (81.3). I wish that I could see the attempts and knew the depth of yardage. I wish that we could compare practice kicks during their training camps, but we can't. Maybe someone with a PFF/CFF account can give that Basically it's just a matter of belief I guess. Seeing dude knock down four FGs and go perfect during a pressure-filled game for him is damned impressive if you ask me. I don't believe that Fitzgerald could do that.  That being said, I'd have to know more. I will say that it may be worth mentioning that we seem to like PFF this year and Sauls being a PFF All-American may be notable. Now that being said, the Panthers may not be even considering Sauls.
    • Ive said it 1000x times on here.  Our 2025 season will be dictated by the first 4 games.  poo the bed there and lose all confidence and momentum, we win 5 games maybe.  Go 2-2, 3-1 we got a look at 7/8 wins
    • I basically made almost the exact predictions on a phone call with a buddy about 3 weeks ago. I really do expect Evero gone before the seasons end, Young to just not able to get over the hump enough and DC to head into next season on a VERY hot seat.
