Granted that's a possibility, but with that also be true in the other cases referenced?

I'm speculating but I think if the Panthers announced they requested an interview with a candidate, then they probably were reassured by the agent they would accept. Of course barring they don't pull a Ben Johnson from last year or accept another offer first.

Pretty sure we didn't. Borgonzi hasn't ever  interviewed here that I've seen.

There's a theme here though when you look at the people we want to interview over the people we're ignoring.

In Kansas City, Brandt Tilis over Mike Borgonzi...

In Baltimore, Nick Matteo over Joe Hortiz...

In Detroit, Mike Disner over Ray Agnew...

The cap management / analytics expert seems to be the common thread, and I'm not a fan of it.

Only thing I can figure is maybe David Tepper wants somebody who does things closer to his way as opposed to guys who are experts in something he has no clue about.

Fairly certain we interviewed him last cycle.

Don't think so.

You might be mixing him up with Brandt Tilis.

They didn't interview Mike Borgonzi. They interviewed:

  • Scott Fitter
  • Omar Khan
  • Pat Stewart
  • Samir Suleiman
  • Champ Kelly
  • Adam Peters
  • Ryan Poles
  • Brandt Tilis
  • Ed Dodds
  • Jeff Ireland
  • Monti Ossenfort
  • Joe Schoen
  • Nick Caserio
  • Kwesi Adofo-Mensah
  • Jerry Reese

Caserio was hired by the Texans before his 2nd interview and Dodds backed out before the in-person interview.

Poles, Fitterer, Tilis, and Ossenfort was interviewed twice.

Thx for confirming.  Must've had him mixed up.

Don't think Leak was around, but I know we followed it pretty heavily as it was happening.

Fitterer wasn't part of the original group. He and one other (Khan, I think) were tacked on at the end.

Peters technically made it to round two but the 49ers gave him a raise and a new title (Assistant GM) to come back

Eagles assistant GM Alec Halaby interviewed for the Panthers’ GM job today, per league source.
Panthers have been posting their head coach interviews on their website, not so with the GM candidates.

    • yeah, Steve was basically like on any actual topic that approached his flaws/problems.....89 went with the long winded, try to sound like a wise man strategy of just basically just pleading the 5th (and sprinkling in the idea that others could of been wrong or wrong too).   also, in terms of the assaults and stuff like that....it feels like old 89, I feel has sort of forgotten his well-documented confessions and apologies about that aspect and era of his and was trying to re-write his story/image in hindsight.   And in all honesty, it seemed like a PR move on the twitter/cheating stuff also attempting to play himself as not the bad guy some think with the intentional vague suggestions. and the Pivot and all these athlete moves to basically take the reigns and power from traditional outlets exposes they have just as bad as flaws if not more often than the traditional media folks.  I mean I do like the free form long talk when dudes are telling stories but all this stuff is largely flawed and controlled PR often.
    • Sadly, I agree and I’m a huge Melo fan. Might be time to ship him out. Don’t want to make the same mistakes the Pels did. They should’ve gotten rid of Zion two years ago.
    • I forgot he was on the team and I'm pulling for him, but the statistics are not in his favor.  Some guys can recover from injuries and others cannot and let's hope Brooks is the former.  He was a beast in high school and college.
