Everette Brown will have more sacks than Pepp in 2010...

Brown did an excellent job of getting to the qb last year, there were a ton of instances were he just couldn't bring him down. If he works on his game hard over the offseason, I don't see why he couldn't have twelve sacks under Meeks system

the reason he couldn't bring anyone down is because he's the size of smootsdaddy

Not sure if he will have more sacks or not, but I do believe that he will have a good year. I also think that we will have a good pass rush this year, not so much from one player but by committee. They will know that they no longer have Pep to fall back on, also both Johnson and Brown have something to prove.

just him getting to the QB was huge. it made the QB panic and force bad throws which lead to more takeaways from our defense. there's a reason we finished #4 in takeaways, and it was the consistent pressure onto the QB.

idk I'm just saying smaller d-ends thrived under Meeks at Indy, plus Fox and Hurney have good eyes for talent, I doubt they would have drafted him otherwise...

Just a side note: I hate the comments on espn.com, some people are such taint-lickers, there are more trolls on those articles than there are in Middle earth

I wouldn't say that.

What I would say is Charles Johnson having more sacks than Pepp. This is a year where he can prove himself, and take on a full starting role. I see great potential in him, I think Brown still needs to put on some size before he's thrown into an all down player.

We'll see though.

Agree, I think Charles Johnson has a better chance of having more sacks than Peppers this year. Brown has talent, but he's still figuring things out... Johnson has been waiting in the wings for years now and had 6 sacks in 08 and 4 sacks in 09 on very limited playing time.

This will be Johnsons 3rd year Brown's 2nd. Brown has already passed Johnson. Zod is right Brown will explode this year.

    • I am high, but that’s besides the point! The blue line is not good right now. I’ve said it all year. I don’t think this group meshes well. Slaven has been just OK Niki up and down Miller up and down ghost and Walker have been your most consistent guys. Maybe it comes together more towards the playoffs
    • I was expecting to see more cap room moves by now, which may be to suggest that we are not going to be that aggressive.  I have mixed emotions about that (because I think we have 3 needs on D and 3 needs on O--starters).  If you look to the draft for 3 starters, that is ambitious.  We need 6
    • Yeah we shouldn’t be competing with teams, bidding wise, to sign a WR. There will be one for us and our budget.  I keep saying, how many balls will there be to go around anyway? One thing good I will say for this offense is the ball has been spread around at times. Seems like I remember seeing a large number of guys have caught passes in a game. Or been targeted at least. 3 RBs 4 or 5 WRs 2-3 TEs type of stat lines. 10-11 guys.  Not every week but that happens.    As far as WR in general, we need the smaller agile and quicker component to compliment what is there. After that it should be about depth, having good backups for the starters so we can run things consistently still, if a guy is out for a week or two. That is especially important in game where you have to finish the game with who you made active.
