Peppers buying bubbly for Chicago club goers

Julius Peppers didn't need to buy drinks for club patrons at Crescendo to win over his new town -- but it didn't hurt.

The new Bears defensive end purchased 25 bottles of Perrier Jouet Fleur de Champagne ($350 per bottle) at the River North club and had them distributed by staff around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday -- complete with sparklers. The crowd was told it was Peppers' way of saying thanks for the warm welcome.

Why wouldn't he? He's on top of the world right now....I'm just glad he's not a Cowboy.....but I'll be pulling against the Bears just as bad :D

Damn right. F*ck the Cowboys.

And I don't blame him. If I were single and rich as hell like Pep I'd be pulling ass like Wilt Chamberlain in Chicago.

Well, if the rumors about Wilt are also true they have something in common...

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
