Carolinas help

Epistaxis

Recommended Posts

I have been given an assignment by the CEO to organize a family trip.

One of the suggested destinations was the Carolinas.

This made me smile.

I, of course, thought of my pals here.

This trip would be 5-7 days long and would include myself, the missus, and our 4 and 2 year olds.

They love water parks, pools, playgrounds, the beach, art, the typical stuff.

I look to survive these trips, so my thoughts are mostly inconsequential.

Any help on where to go, where to stay, what to see would be very much appreciated.

Thanks guys.

I'd say go in the mountains around Asheville, maybe even go to the Biltmore (Warning $$$$) then take 26 on down to Charleston. You can hit the beaches around there or go down the coast to Beaufort (pronounced byou-fert) or Hilton Head (more family oriented). I will say if you go around Beaufort/Hilton Head, you must go for a day out to Hunting Island.

I didn't know you were from Brevard... we're looking at going there this summer for that very reason.

I would suggest Myrtle Beach... yeah, it's touristy but there's stuff for everyone from the beach to golf to waterparks. Stay at Kingston Plantation.

Mountains are a good way to start. From Boone to Maggie Valley(kids).

To me anywhere on the SC coast is great. We always like to start in Charleston for a day or two and work our way up HWY 17 to Myrtle Beach and end up in Wilmington NC.

If you are near Charlotte at the end of May the Coca Cola 600 is going on and even if you aren't so much into racing the Speed Street uptown is something fun to do.

I second the Asheville sentiment... You and the missus would probably like the Biltmore... From there, I'd go to to Asheboro and the zoo... Then maybe take US 64 to Raleigh, where you can hit the NC Museum of Natural Sciences (and maybe see me!), the NC Museum of History, Marbles Kids Museum, or head over to Blue Ridge Rd. to see the NC Museum of Art... Then, after Raleigh, you could head to Wilmington and the USS North Carolina Battleship, stop by the beach, or even head down to Myrtle Beach in just over an hour... South Carolina is overrated though... ;)

For time's sake, Asheville to Asheboro would take about a 3 hour drive... Asheboro to Raleigh is like an hour... and Raleigh to Wilmington is about an hour and a half...

Water parks... You have those in Concord/Charlotte (Great Wolf Lodge) and Greensboro (Emerald Pointe)... But I haven't heard the greatest things about them lately... Charlotte also has Carowinds...

I'll see if I can think of any other places... The OBX is always an option, but you might run out of things to do with the kiddies...

    • Sellers is absolutely one to keep an eye on. Could be the next Cam or could be the next Anthony Richardson. Curious to see how he has progressed come this fall.
    • I think Texas could go 0-12 and he would still go #1 based on his name and traits like you say.  But nusselman and sellers may be actually better qbs.    Man if bryce stinks it up this season its looking like a damn good year to swap out qbs.  Sellers highlights are just fuging jaw dropping
    • I mean, the kid comes from a wealthy family. It's not like he needs the money. He has a ton of potential now we get to see what he can do as a starter. Everyone penciling him in as the #1 overall pick is putting the cart way before the horse. It's 5% because of his talent and what he's showing on the field and 95% because his last name is Manning. And if he is what he's hyped to be the Texas coaching staff needs to be answering some tough questions about why the kid wasn't on the field sooner. Ewers was a good college QB but he's definitely not a "keep a future #1 overall pick waiting" type of college QB. Only getting one season out of a top NFL talent because you chose to keep him buried behind a borderline NFL talent is just coaching negligence. Not starting him as a true freshman? Yeah, I get that. But on year two if the kids is what he's hyped to be you gotta wish Ewers well elsewhere and turn the page.
