I get it but we are still thin at the position. and he does have more talent than what it would take to replace him. We save absolutely nothing by cutting him, it actually cost us over 23k to cut him to not play for us so that wouldn’t make much sense. He’s on the last year of his deal

I'm not against it. I think the team is ready to move on but now they may not be able to due to lack of bodies.  I'd say if they draft one Shaq may be on borrowed time.

We save $3m if we cut him post June 1st.

Answer: Better than Luvu, according to some

I dunno if thats the case, but in his season under Evero in Denver he had 128 tackles, 2 1/2 sacks, and 2 INTs.  Luvu last season had 125 tackles, 5.5 sacks and no INTs.  From what I gather with those stats, its about a wash with maybe Jewell being a bit better in coverage with the INTs, and Luvu a bit better in pressure with his sacks.  Biggest thing is since he's played for Evero he knows the scheme.

They were both top 10/top 5 available. Luvu a better pass rusher and a little younger, Jewell looks more willing to tackle in the run game that what we're used to

There's only a few of us left willing enough to stick around for this train wreck. That's only because we just can't look away.

I mean specifically that are willing to pay money to go to the stadium and cheer and yell lol. It's gonna be a while before they get Luke level chants on the db meter

If someone is willing to pay money to watch this I have no sympathy for them. They should know by now it's wasted money. They have no reason to grip about crappy football as it will not change anytime soon. If they are not going for the laughs and fellowship they are doing it wrong.

    • Well he quickly deflected the question about Rico's "almost 7 YPC." He is very polished and he transitioned well to non-answers and side steps. I can see why a guy like him was able to pull the wool over on guys like Tepper.
    • 31st rushing D and 8 carries by Rico is coaching.  Rico is easily the best offensive weapon right now and it’s not really close.  *literally everyone knows Dalton is washed, horrible and shouldn’t even be a backup QB.   Drive 1? ZERO carries.  Coaching.  Drive 2 - Rico was playing great.   Did Canales lean into that or go for “balance”? Coaching. Drive 3 - ZERO carries.  Coaching  Drive 4 - 1 carry and opted for Jimmy Horn gadget rush (you can’t stick  with the Horn repetitive gadget runs each week and that’s not a better idea than getting Rico going)  Drive 5 - basically Dalton heavy as the half expired.  I don’t need to watch a game to know it’s coaching.  The gameplan wasn’t about setting Rico up to go off on a trash rush D.  It was bullshit harmony balance of the rush and the pass and making Hubbard feel good.
    • In the locker room after the Dallas game, multiple  players said FEED him when Canales mentioned Rico stats. That already made me think even the locker room wouldn't care if Rico got the touches rn. This is on Canales indeed and I agree n the Qb take.  We aren't winning  bc of Bryce  but he has been managing it. Had the Jets had Qb aptitude,  we could've probably  lost that game too. All they would've needed is 14 points. Regardless, we got a team  that's being built up and that position needs an overhaul.  If ww lock in to Bryce, it'd be no different  than the 49ers locking into Purdy. Can't do it!
