David Tepper's Dilworth Drop-in

First of all, Tepper has too much money to be confronting people like that. It's just too dangerous now a days. Folks are crazy!

But I like his attitude of not taking ish from anybody and talking to people man to man. It's obvious that he doesn't come from money. He's a self made billionare and that's pretty rare. Probably a real straight shooter and I respect the heck out of that!

This was his SECOND time stopping in lol

“It’s just, you gotta stay in your lane,” Wohlfarth said. “This is not really an attack on anyone or anything. This is me expressing frustration because, believe it or not, I actually lose more of my income when the Panthers lose than he does.”
The restaurant owner said the Panthers’ six straight losing seasons had amounted to “hundreds of thousands of dollars” in lost revenue.
Wohlfarth also said in the interview that Tepper is a “meddling owner.” Wohlfarth said that publicly on the same sign, too, in mid-January, writing: “Meddling owners never win. Run from Jerry Jones.”
That sign prompted a Tepper stop-in as well.
“And he was sorta p----ed off about that one,” Wohlfarth told The Observer of Tepper.
The difference was that no one put that Tepper visit on social media — it apparently came about 2-3 weeks after the drink toss. Someone did on NFL Draft day, and of course it went viral.

godalmighty we are fuged as a franchise

Nah that was from David newton reporting.

multiple people on Twitter last night were there and said it was not friendly. The first guy reporting apparently has video and if he’s smart he let tepper buy it from him.

Tepper isn’t capable of a normal, human interaction.

Unless we get a video i'd have trouble believing it.  Just because a room full of panthers fans maybe drunk that already dislike the owner...yeah i'd think they would say he was angry lol

is there some kind of law that says he can't stop where he wants 100 times if he chooses? lol I'm not defending the guy...but we have zero real evidence of any of this as yet lol

zero evidence of what?  Him stopping?  you are clearly defending the dude saying it was drunk fans making things up.  Come on man, the dude threw a damn drink on a fan of course he is this petty.  Read up on teppers prior actions

In this particular case I would have to agree that it's a nothing burger.  If the establishment was bold enough to put up the sign I think they would certainly not cover Teppers ass in the encounter with him. If they say he wasn't being a dick I will take their word for it.

Its a total nothing burger, its funny in fact, but it just is another instance we can point to that tepper is a putz.  A temperamental putz that cannot control his emotions.

I think most people don't like Tepper and its easier to assume he did wrong based on his prior actions its likely he did something....but i'm not trusting the words of random people on twitter for that, people lie all the time

Maybe an outlier opinion, but Scott Fowler needs to grow up.  That piece reads like amateur hour mud slinging.

Starts the story off by talking about something he was doing.   Leading with the "I" thing can be a hook but in Fowler's case it seems like everything wants to evolve around him.  Middle class narcissist upset with a billionaire narcissist.  Ended up skimming rather than reading.  Sorry I even clicked it TBH

they both suck for sure, both seem to be petty and completely unprofessional

For being as rich as he is he's just a regular guy just like the rest of us. I think fans forget that sometimes.  He wasn't born into privilege, he earned it the hard way. That I respect about him. But he's going to have to figure this football ownership thing out because he's wearing out my patience with him.

I think he’s still struggling and hasn’t come to terms with the idea that it is more difficult to be a successful NFL owner than to be a successful hedge fund owner.

David Tepper really is me FR. Because if someone put up a sign blasting me, I'd go talk to them and I might come across a little pissed. That's just man poo.

If I had the 'fug you' money Tepper has and was that bothered, I'd buy the business and tear it down to it's studs.

He just seems incredibly emotional.

    • This 1000%.  Hey who wants to sign with the guy that couldn't even get his client the guaranteed contract of a 3rd round pick?  Lmao
    • I don't think it's any weird or unique clause, it's the offset language, same thing so many contract disputes are over. It just means that including it, if a player is cut and then signed by another team, the original team would be able to subtract how much they're getting paid by the new team from what they still owe him on their guaranteed money. For example, it's why Russell Wilson signed for the minimum last year with the Steelers as that was included in his Denver contract.  So if he signed with the Steelers for $1 million, he'd get $1 million less from the Broncos, if it was $2 million, he'd get $2 million less, basically he couldn't make any more money than he was already going to make, so you sign for the minimum to not take unnecessary cap room from your new team while giving extra cap room to your old one. The problem with trying to include it in rookie deals is that a team trying to include it, it says they think they don't really believe the player will make it 4 years with the team before they cut them.  And this usually comes up with one or two rookies in most seasons, the difference is it's usually handled much more quietly and not as public and ugly as this one. The other difference is that it's happening with the Bengals, which I believe I saw are one of the few (or only?) team that doesn't have protections for rookies in rookie and mini camps to be able to participate even if they haven't signed their contract yet.  The other teams have injury protections that allow them to still play, but the Bengals do not, which is also why this one is so public and ugly, as most the time this happens, the rookie is still participating in the rookie and subsequent mini camps, giving them more time to get the contract done before training camp when they'd then hold out.
