I believe some here interpreted the idea he has size and tighter hips to mean he is a bad route runner. I can't find anything saying he is bad at route running.

The most negative things i find say he will need to further develop route tree. But that there was generally positive things to say about his vertical route stem and indications he could build on the more precision route concepts.

It's more about which routes he can physically run well, he's not gonna shake anyone like a slot guy, he didn't have much success taking catches on sweeps in the backfield etc. Stopping on a dime for a comeback route, things like that. He'll be able to turn a guy around on go routes by faking an inside cut, straight up beating guys on slants and high crosses. Also some of the film he does cut back and he's just standing there waiting for the ball so there is some unknown about the qb quality, timing, QB under distress, etc. This is what happens when you try to evaluate a guy with only 1 year of starting reps with a mid QB and newish offensive system to the school he played for

I haven't heard someone talk like Xavier since I was a kid.

His accent is too good to be a bust.

This is what I'm thinking.  Some guys just have IT.  I'm starting to get a real good feeling about him.

Ok, didn’t give up anything really, dropped our 5th to a 6th. I guess they were afraid of the Bills taking him. I’m fine with him. Now gimme JPJ or Cooper or a CB at 39 😏

The bills clearly didn’t want him. We literally traded with the bills

No but someone apparently did. Several teams were trying to trade up ahead of the Bills and with the Bills themselves. Beane made a deal with Morgan that if they were going to trade out of 32 to give him a call. The Bills could have taken who they wanted at 32 because no team could take their guy except the Panthers who must have told them who they wanted. It's not as cut and dry as you think.

If he did then he won't get to do it again. You can only screw someone over once and not have it come back on you. Unless you are Scott Fitterer then yeah we got screwed.

100%.  But I am guessing its like pranking your friends, its like "damn dude you totally fell for it".  The bills clearly dont give 2 chits about the 5th, knew who we wanted obviously, and called morgan to see if he would bite.  Spoiler alert, he did indeed bite.

Morgan contacted the Bills before they traded with the Chiefs. There were a lot of teams looking to move into the bottom of the 1st. That was reported on nfl network. Now what all the activities were targeting I could not say. I do know there were a lot of interest in the receivers going on at that time. I'm sure Morgan wanted to make sure that they got their guy. Whether he is the right guy has yet to be determined.

I am not disagreeing with any of that.  But its patently clear that at 32 beane reached out to morgan and fuged with him a bit.  The bills dont care about the 5th option and wanted to see what they could get from morgan for 33/32.  They knew who we wanted.  That also gave them negotiating power for 33 if they wanted to trade.  Its just a friend who is more experienced then you fuging around.  Kudos to him, I hope morgan learns from it.  As I said since yesterday the 5th year option isnt some magic cheat code, if it was you would see more trade ups to utilize it.   If it held all this incredible leverage then the bills simply would have got coleman and held on to the 5th.  I just dont think teams give 2 chits about something 5 years down the road

According to what I've heard the Bills were trading out of 32 regardless. So they gave Morgan a chance to get his guy before someone else jumped us. Was the other trade partner going after Legette? I cannot say. I have a hard time thinking that Beane would play Morgan like that, especially since they could have gained more picks by trading with someone else. But you could be right and Beane played Morgan.

    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
    • Don’t recall seeing many of his interviews but what strikes me is that he engages and goes in depth. Even with the cliche answers as referenced by OP come across somewhat thoughtful.  Very likable personality despite being someone who can crush an average person like I can crush a paper cup. I knew Motons mother had a career at MSU but was looking on the google and found that Mushin Muhammad personally knew Motons grandfather.   His late grandfather was a professor at MSU.   Cool guy.  Interesting family and small world.
    • I think people aren’t patient enough with Young. It can take a few years for a QB to develop. Look at Darnold, Baker and most recently Daniel Jones.   he hasn’t been able to put up big passing numbers either cause of how much we run the ball. You can tell our coaching staff still hasn’t took the training wheels off Bryce and let him go all out. We’ve had some pretty bad receivers as well. We finally got a true number one last year and look how much Bryce improved. Still we didn’t really have any depth behind TMac. Coker was hurt for a lot of the year and XL was our #2. How many big plays or TDs has XL dropped? I think this year can be the year we see Bryce able to hit his stride. If not then we can start looking for another qb but I just ask people to be patient.
