Does anyone actually think Bryce will actually be good?

Apparently they had a backup there they like already. Competition.... what a concept. So maybe it does matter a little. Think Rattler would get poached off a practice squad?

Maybe but it won't be us. The new guys were hired for their pitch and we all know who that revolves around. I would rather watch a late round project than what I saw last year personally.

Are you hoping to hear a different answer than has been discussed in a thousand threads so far?

Just curious what you want to see that's different than all the other discussions about this.

Someone have a different answer or opinion than you about it that you need to call out? You mad at it and want to throw more out into it?

Haener could be good/serviceable backup/spot starter.  Despite juicing last season, they spent a 4th on the guy, he has some good traits.

Fun fact… in first year of NFL Bryce Young QB rating was higher than P. Manning first year

Here are more fun facts about Peyton Manning's rookie season: Peyton ranked 3rd in total passing yards, 5th in passing touchdowns, 4th in 1st-down completions, 11th in TD%, and 8th in completions that were 20 yards or more.

Now let's look at how Bryce compared to his peers: 20th in total passing yards, 28th in passing TDs, 21st in 1st-down completions, 31st in TD%, and 27th in completions that were 20 yards or more.

To put it mildly, Peyton showed plenty of flashes as a franchise quarterback. Bryce? Not so much, almost none at all, as a matter of fact.

Oh, and Peyton is legit 6'4", literally head and shoulders above Bryce.

I sometimes wonder if Bryce defenders are sentient at all.

    • CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panthers coach Dave Canales said Friday that starters will play in the first two preseason games, stopping just short of admitting he made a mistake last season holding them out. The plan includes playing quarterback Bryce Young, who got off to a historically bad start to the 2024 regular season that got him benched after opening 0-2. Carolina opens their preseason schedule Friday at home against Cleveland, followed by an August 15 road game at Houston and August 21 home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.   Canales said he will evaluate after the first two games whether starters will play in the third game. "Kind of going through it last year, we had a mix of veteran players, but [this is] predominantly a pretty young team,'' said Canales, who has at least six new starters to the defense that was the worst in the league a year ago. "I just can't pass up the opportunities. The reps in games are valuable. "[But] it goes to the night before, when guys know they're going to go out there, they've got to make a decision to play football. So it starts the night before with the prep. You start thinking about your plan, taking care of your body, making sure you get your rest.''   https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45880676/panthers-starters-play-first-2-preseason-games-says-coach
    • You call the Cowboys purely for information, but we don't have the assets to pull off any realistic trade. Also, even if they would consider any trade, it's more likely they want to do it with an AFC team.
