Call me crazy, but we might have improved the pass rush after all

For as hyped as he was and as big of a name as he is, Clowneys stats are not that great.

I agree, but he has been a solid starter for a decade, pulling in his best sack numbers (tied at 9.5) last year at 30 yo. Hopefully Evero can squeeze every last drop of gas he has in the tank and just maybe our developmental players will pick up some knowledge.

A generational player does not come around every year. They come around once in a decade, maybe two decades.  So I do not agree about generational prospects. You cannot predict them, they rise to the top when the games are played.

I don't mean the prospects are actually generational.  I just mean there's very few of them that actually pan out that way.  I agree with you.

Yep, I mean the last "generational" QB is a mid-tier guy in Jacksonville. But hey, props to him. Because he still got paid like he was the guy he was drafted to be.

If you take a look at his advanced metrics he has been really good in several categories and his supporting cast has let him down.

Im not saying he is worth that contract, Goff isnt worth what he got either. The league is full of guys that are overpaid, thats the next man up dumb poo.

Don't know who you are, but if you don't understand that people use the term "we," as the league, owner, coaches, players and fans as part of a team, literally and/or figuratively, then you don't understand being a fanatic or marketing, which in large part are based upon appealing to emotions.

In this case, "we" are the Panthers.

Keep Pounding!

OOU?

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
