Big Ben goes free... again.

ESPN's Kelly Naqi reports that Ben Roethlisberger will not be charged with sexual assault stemming from the accusation of a 20-year-old student in Milledgeville (GA) last month.

If Naqi is right, this will be the second sexual assault charge Big Ben has avoided in the last eight months. Earlier Friday, ESPN's Roger Cossack cited "people involved in the case" to predict Roethlisberger wouldn't be indicted or arrested. The Georgia D.A. will make a formal announcement on Monday.

Could still face league discipline, and it'd be no surprise if the victim sues him. Not to mention, regardless of legal finding, the mere fact of this incident makes his other lawsuit a bit tougher to win.

Personal opinion: I think he's guilty in both cases. Ben's a bad combination of moron and a$$hole. That kind has a tendency to think the rules don't apply to them.

Athletes get away with too much, if any average citizen even remotely assaulted a woman sexually they'd get a automatic 30 days and a fine. He has gotten away with it twice which eventually leads to worse situations. I believe he gets a kick out of it and its going to cause him to go too far and actually rape someone and possibly kill them, then what they're gonna get a fine and a slap on the wrist plus 30 days in jail and set free. Look at Dante Stallworth that's the prime example.

sounds like enough for a suspension to me. idk how long, but if he gets of w/ no punishment from the league, i dont think that will sit well.

Damn ....it must be nice to be Rich, famous, and white.

lol Gilbert Arenas is getting off pretty light. If I recall, Vick could have gotten much worse too.

Celebrity status as a professional athlete has more to do with it than race. But it doesn't hurt that he's a superbowl winning QB of one of the most popular franchises.

    • Yeah. As a wild card team. Washington won the division at 10-6.
    • no doubt but flip that.   The current system insures that there are "regional" games in the early weeks. maximizing the reach of playoff football.  If all of the WC weekend for a conference took place on the west coast they are reducing the "reach" of their hype machine.
    • Hard to say with London--he never ran--combine or pro day.  Here is what AI says, and it is always 100% accurate: Drake London's 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine was not recorded because he was dealing with a fractured ankle at the time. While he didn't participate in the 40 at the Combine or his pro day, his coach said his 40 time was estimated to be between 4.4 and 4.53 seconds. Some sources also list his 40 time at 4.58 and 4.6 seconds Unless you are running 9s all day, top end 40 speed is rarely reached.  I have always looked at the 3-cone drill.  At his pro day, TMac ran a 6.86--pretty good, actually.  For context, it is faster that Rome Odunze (6.88) who ran a 4.45 40.  Odunze is 6'3" and weighs 216, fwiw, and is considered a very good route runner with no wasted motion.  Mike Evans 3-cone was 7.08.  To put it in a broader context, through 2022, with all NFL prospect 3-cone drills combined, a 6.86 puts TMac in the.89th percentile-  Now consider the fact that he is 6'4" and 220.   We might have something here.  '
