Big Ben goes free... again.

ESPN's Kelly Naqi reports that Ben Roethlisberger will not be charged with sexual assault stemming from the accusation of a 20-year-old student in Milledgeville (GA) last month.

If Naqi is right, this will be the second sexual assault charge Big Ben has avoided in the last eight months. Earlier Friday, ESPN's Roger Cossack cited "people involved in the case" to predict Roethlisberger wouldn't be indicted or arrested. The Georgia D.A. will make a formal announcement on Monday.

Could still face league discipline, and it'd be no surprise if the victim sues him. Not to mention, regardless of legal finding, the mere fact of this incident makes his other lawsuit a bit tougher to win.

Personal opinion: I think he's guilty in both cases. Ben's a bad combination of moron and a$$hole. That kind has a tendency to think the rules don't apply to them.

Athletes get away with too much, if any average citizen even remotely assaulted a woman sexually they'd get a automatic 30 days and a fine. He has gotten away with it twice which eventually leads to worse situations. I believe he gets a kick out of it and its going to cause him to go too far and actually rape someone and possibly kill them, then what they're gonna get a fine and a slap on the wrist plus 30 days in jail and set free. Look at Dante Stallworth that's the prime example.

sounds like enough for a suspension to me. idk how long, but if he gets of w/ no punishment from the league, i dont think that will sit well.

Damn ....it must be nice to be Rich, famous, and white.

lol Gilbert Arenas is getting off pretty light. If I recall, Vick could have gotten much worse too.

Celebrity status as a professional athlete has more to do with it than race. But it doesn't hurt that he's a superbowl winning QB of one of the most popular franchises.

    • Poor guy went from practice squad paychecks to active roster paychecks. Based on his 1 accrued year, he went from $234k to $960k. Poor guy absolutely loves being here in Charlotte.
    • People wanted to get rid of Cam. He was our other fist round QB selection. You keep them through their rookie contracts. You cant provide a better solution because their isn't one right now. The only 2 QBs that could overcome our historically bad team is Mahomes and Josh Allen. They dont grow on trees buddy.  Sellars nor Archie Manning close to them right now.
    • I have zero faith in Dan, Dave and Dave. Terrible owner and his wife who can't keep their noses out of football operations, Dan who is a leftover from one of the worst GMs in NFL history, and DC who is a rah rah football coach with a blah vanilla offense that looks like he's in completely over his head.  My expectations before the season was 3-4 wins. After the 1st couple games, maybe 1-2 if we get lucky. 3 if Tampa has locked up the NFCS and isn't playing for playoff position and decides to fug us over in our draft position.
