SCar suffers from little bother syndrome against Clemson. It's the best or second best team in the ACC against a borderline top 5 SEC team.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t sat down and watched SMU one time all year.  I got no clue what they really bring.

Not so much in the Palmetto Bowl.  And also not always, see Dabo’s multiple nattys over SEC teams.

You’re an interesting cat Mr.Colorado/SEC/Miami/formerTarheel fan.

Dabo was dominate in his day. Unfortunately his day has passed.

For the last time people seem to be confusing my fandom. I'm a UNC fan who happens to have a bandwagon team because I like Prime the person.

UNC/Colorado those are my teams. Not sure why you mentioned Miami and the SEC. I'm just saying the SEC is the cream of the crop. Everything goes through them in college football.

What do you mean not reward the Big12 champion?

2 ACC teams projected in tonight not 3.

Clemson is #12 but they are first out because they are forced to leapfrog in the #16 BIG12 champ

Oh I thought Clemson was in. If they aren't then we have no issues. You can't put 3 ACC teams in. That was my only issue.

This season, Clemson just became the 4th team in the history of college football to win at least 9 game 14 straight seasons.

Dabo is 100% underrated.  Which I get, he can be annoying to outsiders.  The bar for Dabo is just put unattainably high….so people say like to say he is no longer good.

Clemson won't be after Saturday, South Carolina will be taking their spot.

If Clemson wins, they have a tiny shot at sneaking in.  I’d say if Gamecocks win, that shot is much smaller than Clemson’s was

Gamecocks got problems Clemson doesn’t.  Ole Miss and Bama.  Both ahead of them, with the head to head win over them.

Already questioning the integrity of the college football playoff committee.  It would be extremely hard to find a weaker schedule than Indiana’s who got blown out by an Ohio State and the committee “thinks they looked good at times” against the Buckeyes.  The Big Ten in general is being massively overrated and Indiana basically being in now is ridiculous.  Just IMO

It's a no-win situation. If you want to judge it on SOS, then just put five SEC teams in. If you want to do it by record, better add in something like Army, BYU, Indiana, Tulane, etc. The "it's a 12 team field now' excuse is nothing more than entertainment for the fans ... which is fine. My only gripe is that if a crap team wins one of the Power 4 (5) leagues, they should not get a bye or better seed.

yeah, you should get an auto spot not an auto top 5 spot.  I mean, Big12 still could go sideways and the #5 seed is someone the CFP actually ranks way out of the top 12.  Right now it's the #16 seed but it could be lower than that.

I hope they make the playoffs so you can see them get exposed playing vs real competition.

Unfortunately they will get exposed by SC.

I would be down for a Clemson vs Colorado bowl game tho.

I mean, I don't know if you have been paying attention....but from early on in the year I have said Clemson was ACC good but was never good enough to compete with real top of college football.  And that was true if they were ACC champs.

So what exactly is going to be exposed?? lol

They might lose to the Gamecocks.  Smarter money would be on Clemson if you had to pick.  Homefield,  better overall talent, Dabo.  It's a rivalry game featuring two comparable tiered teams this year.  Nothing gets exposed there.

and I think you draw a line in the sand at this point.  Meaning the CFP can't be viewed as it was.  New era.  The real CFP era was Bama and Clemson.  This is the CFP era vol 2.  Which will feature a bunch of meh teams every year and meh teams bragging about making it and not really being a threat.

    • I wouldn't be opposed to trading for Sanders and seeing if he could be developed here. We have zero plans, and I really don't think it would take Sanders long to produce more than Bryce has. Plus, he's on a 5th round rookie contract and if he became the guy, you instantly have three years to build a core of talent, much of which we already have.  I get flamed for this opinion but it is what it is, and I've been right about these type of things the past three years.  I said Nix would be a good NFL QB. Wanted to keep Darnold and trade down in 2023. Said QB play wasn't the QB's fault under Rhule, but rather the offensive design.  Give me Sanders in the room for a year with Bryce and Dalton, see what he can develop in to on the cheap. There are no really quality QB's coming out this year that aren't Allar or Manning, and Manning may not even be coming out.
    • basically if the panthers trade Thielen they're not trying to win this year. I mean they're not going to regardless but this means its the plan not to.  no team is going into the season in 2025 with 80 career catches between their top 3 healthy WR.  you'd be turning this from a bottom 3rd of the league offense to like the nathan peterman bills pair that with a defense that is most likely going to struggle, and they're looking at 2001 again.
