At one point we had 15 rushes and 12 passes. It's simply not true.

The roster is atrocious. Idk what people expect from Canales rn.

First 16 plays, Hubbard had 6 rush attempts.

Panthers down 17

that’s what people are talking about.  That’s not run heavy with your best player.  Canales always leans pass early and it goes south.  Even when Hubbard is on fire in previous games

6 out of 16 is perfectly fine. The team got blown out. Canales cannot make this roster a winner right now. Anything calling for him a complete overreaction.

Agreed. I’m fine with the overreactions after the games, but when you step back and look at who we have playing and then realize that decisions made by the front office over the last four years is the sole reason why we have a handful of undrafted free agents starting and playing a ton of snaps, it’s easy to give the entire coaching staff a pass.

There is zero talent on this team at any meaningful spot. Tepper and the front office he has employed forced a quick rebuild multiple times on multiple coaches and sacrificed draft picks for players who are no longer playing or who just aren’t capable.

The simple solution would have been to let Wilks and Darnold give it a go (like 80% of the fan base wanted) while you quietly rebuilt behind the scenes.  We’d be entering the sink or swim year for both of those guys with a whole helluva lot more talent across the board as we wouldn’t have gone stupid with our draft picks going after Bryce.

It’s funny to think back at how hesitant everyone was on Wilks saying we’d just be around .500 with him as HC. Man, what id give to watch a 8-9, 9-8 panthers season.

That’s not an emphasis on running though.  Which is the talk.

And the disaster pass attack setup Washington to end the game a quarter in and get up 17-0

i have never said he should win.  I have said he shouldn’t get a complete pass.  His O and its incompetence should be judged.   Given his OL.  Vet QB.  Improved skill guys.   It’s no better than Frank who had it much worse

To be fair the first drive script was into Wash territory until the vet QB threw a screen pass pick 6.

    • This 1000%.  Hey who wants to sign with the guy that couldn't even get his client the guaranteed contract of a 3rd round pick?  Lmao
    • I don't think it's any weird or unique clause, it's the offset language, same thing so many contract disputes are over. It just means that including it, if a player is cut and then signed by another team, the original team would be able to subtract how much they're getting paid by the new team from what they still owe him on their guaranteed money. For example, it's why Russell Wilson signed for the minimum last year with the Steelers as that was included in his Denver contract.  So if he signed with the Steelers for $1 million, he'd get $1 million less from the Broncos, if it was $2 million, he'd get $2 million less, basically he couldn't make any more money than he was already going to make, so you sign for the minimum to not take unnecessary cap room from your new team while giving extra cap room to your old one. The problem with trying to include it in rookie deals is that a team trying to include it, it says they think they don't really believe the player will make it 4 years with the team before they cut them.  And this usually comes up with one or two rookies in most seasons, the difference is it's usually handled much more quietly and not as public and ugly as this one. The other difference is that it's happening with the Bengals, which I believe I saw are one of the few (or only?) team that doesn't have protections for rookies in rookie and mini camps to be able to participate even if they haven't signed their contract yet.  The other teams have injury protections that allow them to still play, but the Bengals do not, which is also why this one is so public and ugly, as most the time this happens, the rookie is still participating in the rookie and subsequent mini camps, giving them more time to get the contract done before training camp when they'd then hold out.
