We have to figure out our future core team

I said it at the time and stand by it still, if Bryce was a bust (which I figured about an 80% chance of being one), we are looking at a minimum of 4, probably 5 years of having a 0% chance of even sniffing a playoff spot. So we are on year 2, so really at least 3 more years before it's time to start to talk about playoffs again. In other words, I wouldn't worry about making the playoffs until the Fall of 2028.

This is what people warn about when you get idiots like Tepper throwing out these insane trades because he just wants the first pick so badly. All these people cheer because they are excited at the time for that pick, but when reality hits them in the face with "don't even think about playoffs until 2028" you'll see them start crying. But that's the reality when you have an idiot like Tepper as owner. And the even harsher reality is if Tepper is still involved in 2028, there is 0% chance of a playoff spot no matter who our roster has. The Panthers are guaranteed not to play in a single playoff game if he is involved. I said this 3 years ago and ill stand by that 3 years from now. People will have to face reality.

I firmly believe we will not see a winning record before 2030. I am on record for that and have been trying to get various sportsbooks to give me odds on a five figure bet.

This crew hasn't shown they have figured out who the core should be that's here now. I just hope the talk of keeping Chubba was all PR speak because him and Johnson are about the only 2 guys with value, both of those 2 should be walking at worst so why not. Those are not going to be core guys and this team needs to eat a bunch of bad contracts or they will be showing up with next with mostly the same mistakes.

My concern that I’ve brought up time and time again is that true alpha personalities intimidate the hell out of Tep and therefore, they have no place in this org. The fact that he dubbed Young of all people to be the figurehead of the team is very telling…. The biggest lamb to ever set foot in that locker room. QB1. C on his chest from day 1. Are you kidding me?

Your core dudes aren’t lambs. Coaches who are capable of getting their ish show turned around aren’t lambs. They won’t accept being talked to any kind of way. They demand respect from everyone, even the owner. T hasn’t shown the capacity to respect anyone. He wants to tell people who have devoted their entire life to this sport what to do and how to do it.

I seriously doubt we will be able to retain Horn. Dude has legit superbowl MVP potential and he knows it. Look at what he’s managed to do in THIS defense. Just imagine him with a real defensive coordinator and pass rush. He gone, bros.

Chuba gone. This is his Shawshank. If he gets blackballed the rest of the season, he has shown some good stuff to warrant a good contract somewhere else. Johnson? lol. Thielen? Doubt it. Andy? Who knows.

Fact is players probably straight up hate playing for T and until that changes, good luck bringing anyone, coaches or players, who can get this franchise truly back on track.

2030? Damn, do you have any idea how disappointing that will be if your prediction is true? My God that's like 5 seasons from now!

Fwiw, I hope Tepper and Morgan take a look around the league and see that chasing qb's is generally stupid.  And I hope they learn some lessons.

Big trades for established qb's can end up like the Cleveland Deshaun Watson or Jets Rodgers situations.  Cleveland especially gave up a lot and got nothing.  Jameis Winston is better now than Watson.

Tanking has never worked.  See Dolphins this year.

Trading up for a qb you want is very risky.  You give up to much and the odds of getting a great qb are slim.  It worked with Mahomes/KC, but it doesn't work often.

Best to draft whatever player comes to you and not make crazy trades to move up.

We're going to be a run first team with 3 receiving options better than any of the other players on past rookie 1k seasons. If you can't understand that, then it's a you problem, not a me problem. Arizona's previous basketball coach, Sean Miller, used to do something at the first team meeting of every season and I think it's soooooooooo applicable to this situation. He'd have every player right down how many minutes/points they expected to average that season and then he'd add them up.  It would show that if they all hit those numbers, we'd score like 125 points a game and need to be playing 7 guys at a time to get their minutes. That's pretty much how you guys are putting your T-Mac expectations out there, looking solely at the player and what you think he should be able to do, not how the offense will operate as a whole. Every yard one player gets is one less yard someone else can get.  It sounds like I just have more faith in Thielen, XL, and Coker this year than most everyone else.  But a big reason for that faith is because of T-Mac and how much he'll open things up for the rest of them and Bryce being the type of QB to take the open easy passes than force it to his #1. As I've said, if any one of the following happens... Thielen ends the season sub 700 yards, XL or Coker end up sub 500 yards... Then yes, I will then shift my expectations for T-Mac's rookie year to be at least 1,000 yard season. But since I have faith in those other 3 having solid seasons, it tempers my expectations yardage totals for T-Mac this year, and this year alone.  I've also clearly stated many times that I think he's going to reach 10 TDs. If T-Mac ends the season with 800 yards and 10 TDs, while Thielen gets 900-1,000 and XL/Coker each get around 600, I don't see any world where that is a failure for a rookie season for T-Mac. Because again, we're talking about expectations, not what is possible.  So given the other WR options, I can't EXPECT T-Mac to get to the 1k mark, which is a far cry from me saying I don't think he can get there. Do you really not see the difference there?
    • I don't recall anyone seeing this coming.  I mean, two seperate things for me.  I thought BB just might not work in college football because he is old grumpy man and college is about appealing to young kids.   So yeah, that could of gone great or horrible.  Coin flip.  This isn't that convo for me.  what we are witnessing right now play out.....this was never part of the disaster possibility/path discussed lol.  Really weird stuff.  Or maybe I missed the part where UNC hires a 20 year old "girlfriend" that apparently runs the Bill operation and before the season even starts is taking over more than just Bill but influence of the entire UNC operation.  That was her getting that official statement made today.  It was her sabotaging the Hard Knocks UNC show because she somehow wasn't the star.  Seems like elder abuse lol.  Only largely kidding.  You even got Charles Barkley saying he normally doesn't talk about personal lives of his friends but he might have to check in on Bill because this ain't normal stuff lol.  Anyway, it's entertaining.  Everything is a cartoon it seems these days.
    • I think its strange how you were claiming this guy was the second coming of Mike Evans and you can't even get behind 1k yards? I guess I have more faith in him than you
