I really don’t want to watch it but I am curious what he said?

He pointed out the good and bad in Bryce, the offense and the play calling. His voice can be annoying but he's pretty good at breaking down plays and route combinations. He admits he doesn't know the progressions but he does a good job explaining what they should have been given the defensive look. It seems fair and balanced with good and bad.

I guess my real question is, did he say Bryce was salvageable or is he just singularly focused on this one game?

The bottom line is bryce looks vastly better than weeks 1 and 2 and there is no reason to not play him moving forward. There is no downside. If he starts sucking again we are right back where we are right now. But if he can continue to improve (even if he will never be a top 10 QB) we can build the team around him and bide our time till the right QB becomes available.

It's definitely his best game yet, but I wouldn't call it better than an above-average game. He had some nice throws, and a few big drops (the INT was not his fault!). I was particularly impressed by his willingness to throw it deep(er) than usual, and he did a good job avoiding pressure. But his completion percentage was padded by very, very poorly thought out checkdowns, some of which killed drives, and we only put up 23 on the worst defense in the league.

After the Green Bay game, I learned better than to get excited. If he can string together some more games like this, maybe he can be some team's Teddy Bridgewater.

The reason not to play him would be that he’s not on the team anymore because he was wisely traded away when his stock probably won’t be any higher. If he is still on the team next Sunday, then yea might as well keep playing him.

Just 1 game. No predictions made just breaks down the play and the concepts. I found it enlightening and worth the watch if you can get past how annoying the sound of his voice is.

well yea if they get something worthwhile for him than yes I'd pull the trigger but I can't see a team offering something high for him right now. Russini said on her pod we'd likely get more for him in the offseason anyway

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
