Updated 2025 draft order

Dropped to #10 meaningless wins against bottom dwellers with no shot at postseason is the Panther way for ruining draft stock because "winning is all that matters."

What else matters..being able to pick from the top prospects without having to trade up. Spare me with the "no pick is guaranteed" because I rather be able to pick from the top 5 prospects then have to worry if #10 will pan out. If we play the giants and the banged up saints yes we are champion ship contenders but if you evaluate progress against the worst teams then you can't really determine if you're getting better

That Denver game almost half of those yards came on the final drive. Against a healthy top 15 chargers dud..a healthy saints..dud. But beating the giants just to feel good and lose draft position is counterintuitive

Yay, this is what i want...outside of Bryce somehow turning into Aaron Rogers (which he won't).  To win some more games and stay away form this extremely mediocre QB class.  Coincidentally, Bryce playing a little better will likely force the staff to give him one more year to prove himself.  Then we can focus on building the rest of the roster and when Bryce flames out next year, we can turn our focus to the much better QB quality and depth in the 2026 draft.

Seriously this whole tank strategy is the worst idea that could ever be dreamed of in competitive sports.

It's a strategy for cowards and weak minded individuals.

And a strategy to win against bad teams with no hope of being competitive against legit play off teams is some of the most brain dead logic I've ever seen. It's like a race who can be the best of the bottom 10 teams

I'll say it again for those in the back:

TANKING IS NOT A LEGITIMATE WINNING STRATEGY AND DOESN'T GUARANTEE DRAFT SUCCESS. IT ALSO COSTS GMs AND COACHES THEIR JOBS AND THEY LIKE GETTING PAID MILLIONS PER YEAR.

Did you even read it said you have a better opportunity to pick from the top prospects without trading up versus having to get lucky toward the middle of the draft.

Maybe one more win throughout the season based on the schedule, not too worried about our draft position.

If we keep games close moving forward and still lose, I'm cool with it because we look like a more competitive team and still maintain a high draft pick. If we win a few more surprisingly, I'm cool with it, because it means that Canales is coaching well enough to make this sub-par roster competitive, which is good for our future if we bring in more talent.

I am not getting upset about any games the rest of the season one way or the other. It's a house money year for Canales and Morgan, let's see what happens.

We will still be picking in top 7, lets be real. I can't see us winning more than 2 more games. I'm not going to whine about winning. There will still be probowl caliber talent there when we pick. Lets just nail the pick and not trade up. Lets enjoy the occasional win fellas. Culture matters and players not checking out of the season early matters.

You are building a culture one way or the other.

If you keep fighting regardless of anything, you build a tough team that won't quit.

If you start trying to talk, you create a culture that quits

Sorry. Try to defend it all you want, but what you are holding on to is the absolute worst kind of culture for any team.

And the whole concept is just stupid. Sorry. Only the worst of team cultures quit and call it strategy.

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
