It’s hard to give Morgan too much credit for Coker being as he waived him and we could have lost him. He couldn’t see he was better than Mingo right away? He got really lucky we didn’t lose our best rookie.

I'm just speculating and am not trying to defend Morgan, but in looking at it would not be surprised if the plan from the start of the season was to trade Mingo for anything they could get (fortunately, Dallas is dumb) if he didn't show noted improvement. Waiving Mingo tanks any potential value while Coker was going to make it through.

To be fair on my end, there are actual people this board that think they are comparable lol. Or have been at least. BY had a big wave of fans come in and out over the last two years

I am not a chargers fan but herbert is a legit franchise qb. But he needs help now bc his 2 main weapons are jk Dobbins and Ladd mcconkey

And the slot should be cokers area. Who we got for free. So hopefully Leggett and Coker > mcconkey

Hitting on a late rounder (or UDFA) will make up for that 2nd round or third round miss. And we may not have missed this time but in general, it will bail you out. Coker is a really nice bonus for us.

The jury is out on brooks but I'm hoping brooks is special given everything..

Coker is def a big free bonus but hes only on a 2 year contract I think which presents a new but good problem.

    • He was saying Ron hid when he was cut/traded whatever that was.  I get being resentful, and feeling like that was gutless.  He, and Ron, neither are from the ‘breaking up with someone in a text or email is okay’ generation. That avoidance is seen as a lack of character.  Talking about it on camera how many years later? Why? And it is all one sided he said she said stuff. As he is speaking I am thinking well I bet that ain’t the whole story.    Between this type of stuff and him cheating on the wife stuff some of his shine is wearing off.
    • I was very critical of Ron Rivera as a coach for a range of reasons. But Steve Smith has been playing the victim for years now and it's just not working anymore. We know for a fact that he was disgruntled from the moment we drafted Cam Newton because of his own ego. That says more about him than anything he could say about Rivera. And yes Ron Rivera had a lot of faults. No excuses for it. We were right to move on from him. But ultimately Steve Smith couldn't hold it together with that group the same as he struggled to hold it together under previous regimes. He needs to grow up and accept his own role in the last few years of his Panthers career because there are things he could and should have done differently the same as anyone else. Stop seeking to only shift blame to everyone else and evolve or just stop talking and fade away. This isn't helping anyone and it is certainly not helping his image.
    • A friend of mine was involved in building Steve Smith's house and nearly came to blows with him during the process.  Love Smitty as a player, but I've heard very little good about him as a human being.
