260 yards is not a median level of production this year. The average per game is 216 passing yards and the Bengals are the only team in the NFL with more than 260 passing yards per game (262).  I'm not going to bother calculating the median because it definitely won't be 260.

It's fine to temper expectations as 260 yards is still just from one game, but let's not pretend it is just median production.

The floor, really?

Lamar Jackson is leading the league with 254 yard per game and you say 263 yards is median level against one of the best defenses in the NFL

Why are you guys not taking TDs thrown into account?

The average number of passing TDs is less than two per game (1.4).. So his passing TDs was average that game, but the offense he lead scored 5 more points than the league average and the Bills were the only team to score more points vs the Chiefs this year.

The performance just wasn't average overall, but it was just one game.

I'm not surprised to see that relative ranking after watching other teams this year a lot. Passing is way down.

I wonder if @Icege (I think you had the more thorough pff breakdown, sorry if not) has access to what they're calling the big time throws

Not sure where they'd have that particular stat on the site but I'll dig around to see if I can find it.

Worst case scenario I should be able to find their criteria for big time throws and find the plays that fit that from NFL Pro/NFL+

It's a shame there's any fan out there who will honestly be happier to see Bryce have a poor showing this week. See too many of y'all on here.

This is nonsense and you know it. People will be happy when we are consistently and convincingly winning games against good teams. There are people in here talking down to others after losses and barely beating the terrible NY Giants.

If you want to strut around here like only you are a real Panthers fan and rage pooing posts because your jimmies are rustled then hey good luck with all that. I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving.

Couldn't find anything definitive aside from how they define BTT, but based on that info I'd guess that the five were:

  • 34yd deep ball in Q1 to XL that had the declined penalties
  • The 28yd throw to JT during the drive to end the first half on 2nd down
  • 17yd throw to Moore on 3rd down at the end of Q3
  • 4th & 3 pass to AT to convert with 2min left in the game.
  • 5th play I'm guessing is the PA short left to AT in Q1 that ended up going for 36yds. That throw was on 3rd & 1 against a heavy blitz.

Those are all good guesses.  I wonder if they include incomplete passes, where it isn't on the QB.  I wish they'd publish what the big time passes were. It's helpful to learn their methods.

Thanks for checking for us

I'll be happy when we can consistently beat bad teams.

    • I fully expect them to pick up his 5th year , and they're waiting for him to put a full excellent consistent season of QB play in year 4 or 5. If that don't happen,  they'll eventually cut ties.  Here's to hoping he just goes on a team in 2026. The worst thing he could do is continue to see-saw us to around .500 records because it might be impossible to replace him at that point unless youre willing to do the veteran qb carousel poo we did from 2019 to 2023.
    • What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
