I am not giving him a pass, I didn't like this past draft and haven't been wrong about many of the picks(Wallace perhaps).

Just saying you can't put TMJ in his lap, he literally wasn't here.

Right. I'm just saying it is baffling that we are still drafting receivers like that and not placing a higher value on route running or hands.

XL will be a solid WR for us, but he's def not a #1. We need "that dude". We prob could have drafted him in the 2nd or 3rd. Morgan reached at #32

There are about five WRs in the NFL at any given time who meet these mythical "#1 WR" criteria of Panthers fans. It's pretty wild considering that we're a franchise that has had all of three quality long-term WRs in the history of the franchise. Smitty, Moose, and Moore. That's the whole list.

Thielen is better than Moore

Nah he would've been gone by 40, let alone the third round. He was not a reach.

But he's not good, so that's another notch in Morgan's bust belt.

Considering they promoted from within it's really not all that surprising. I believe they made some changes to the pro-scouting department, but college scouting remains unchanged from the Fitterer days AFAIK.

Yes the college scouting dept has remained unchanged despite the changes in the front office. Which is downright criminal considering our drafts the last few years.

On paper, agreed. But ultimately you can have the best scouts in the world and it doesn't matter if the actual decision maker's don't listen to them and go with their own picks instead. Good information can't overcome bad decision makers.

Davante Adams was told by Carolina the panthers were going to draft him.

for low information fans (Bryce supporters) don’t look up that draft.

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
