Not with a Top 5 pick, and if we trade down, it's for an edge rusher that makes sense in that 10-12 range as opposed to the Top 5.

Like the player, just don't like how he aligns with our draft position

There are more than a few scouts that think he's the best receiver in the draft.

There's no good answer here

I've said numerous times I'm not touching Hunter even if he's there, and Burden is the next up in the draft, but he's a slot WR and not worth a Top 5 pick anyways, no way I'm taking him there (and if I'm trading back, I'm not doing it to take a WR, it's to get additional draft picks and taking an edge rusher at a draft slot that makes sense for the prospect).

Not a fan of taking ANOTHER 2nd round WR and hoping they pan out, I'd say to target someone like a DK Metcalf who the Seahawks might not want to give a new contract to, but not like we have the right assets to even make a serious offer as there is no way in hell I'm giving up future 1st round picks.

Overpay for Higgins?  Even though I really don't want to use our cap room on offense.

Go another year without a true #1?

That feels like the final answer unfortunately

Metcalf sounds good, but we likely have to trade a future 1st. Not sure I would trade that kind of pick for a guy also looking to get paid.

Higgins might be the call if you don't think there isn't a true #1 WR in the draft besides Tmac.

I know I saw some say that in the offseason, not sure I've seen any rank him over either T-Mac or Hunter as of late (and I may be wrong, not like I've seen all the rankings).

But either way, it's the same argument that I've been making for why T-Mac makes so much sense for us, but in reverse for Burden.

We need an outside #1 WAY more than another slot dominant WR, and you can find the smaller quick twitch slot WRs in the middle rounds and in FA.  We have so many holes, I can't see over drafting a slot WR when we have so many other holes.

What do you think the asking price for Higgins is gonna be? I'm thinking 30 million is the starting number for him and there will be a lot of suitors for him so the final number being somewhere around that or a little more.

Higgins can’t stay healthy. 7 hammy injuries since coming into the league

30 mil sounds about right. Anything over we obviously have to walk away from that. Can't have a WR making 40mil and he's not even a true #1 if we being honest.

Yeah that's my main concern with him but WR's of that caliber and age don't hit free agency often. They are drafted high and paid or are traded for premium picks.

I think I would if they’d take our 2026 instead of 2025th. Or if they’d send a second and third back for DK and this years first (unless we end up top 5)

I mean, I want to be encouraged that XL will get better because we invested a first round pick in him, but I need him to give me something to work with

Thing is he would have been there in the second where we were but for some reason getting that 5th year options was really important to Morgan.
XL is a second round WR. We just moved up and drafted him in the first.

    • So how about the Mondays after we lose? Because those Mondays after the Jags, Pats, and Bills games better have been run suicides until your legs fall off...
    • Saints trade WR Shaheed to Seahawks Seahawks get: WR Rashid Shaheed Saints get: 2026 fourth-round pick, 2026 fifth-round pick Seahawks' grade: A- Saints' grade: B+ One of the NFL's hottest passing teams just got better. The Seahawks currently rank third in EPA per dropback (0.25) and first in success rate on dropbacks (53%). And now they are adding Shaheed in a move that makes sense both on the field and in terms of where the Seahawks are as a franchise. Shaheed, 27, is averaging 1.8 yards per route run this season. But I think that sells him short because that number is down a bit from his career average entering this year (2.0) and he's been playing a role that includes running fewer vertical routes (34%) compared to last year (44%). Shaheed also has consistently posted above-average open scores in ESPN's receiver score metrics, including a 63 this season that ranks 28th among wide receivers. As a complement to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, I expect Shaheed will run downfield more often and be a bigger threat in that role than rookie Tory Horton was. When Cooper Kupp returns, he and Shaheed will make for a nice pair of secondary threats behind one of the best receivers in the league in Smith-Njigba. This is the time to strike for the Seahawks. FPI gives Seattle an 84% chance to make the playoffs and a 5% shot at winning the Super Bowl. This addition helps boost their chances without mortgaging their future the way the Colts did in the Sauce Gardner trade. Shaheed is a pending free agent but given the leverage of the moment for the Seahawks and their need I think they ought to be plenty willing to pay the cost. Shaheed is young enough to where if Seattle doesn't retain him he should sign a free agent contract that would yield Seattle a compensatory pick -- if the Seahawks don't nullify that pick with signings of their own. Because the Seahawks currently have $79 million in cap space next year, per OverTheCap, getting that compensatory pick is not guaranteed. The Saints are not rolling in cap space the way the Seahawks are -- and thus would land a compensatory pick for Shaheed -- but they got more draft capital this way than they otherwise would have. Considering New Orleans' 1-8 record, this should have been an easy decision.
