Cam tried to warn y'all Purdy was a game manager. Y'all decided to make him the villain. Looks like he was right all along. No way I pay that kid 60mil he would have to come down to 40mil to get me at the table.

Hell I would rather go with Rodgers then overpay Purdy.

Purdy is 8th in qbr for 2024 and tenth in total yards missing a ton of people all year long and 2 games due to injury.  Last night it was terrible weather rams qb had 160 yards passing 0tds with 2 of the best wr in football.  Purdy has 142 and an int he shouldnt have thrown but the wr also should have at least attempted to catch it.  He also had a td dropped by debo.  I would put him somewhere between 5 to 10 in nfl but hopefully takes a hometown discount.  The team played horrible when he missed those 2 games this year.

5-10 lol

More like 11-20.

Place him on a lesser team he's off the radar imo. Jimmy G also looked elite with this 49ers roster. He wasn't anything once he left.

See how Burrow is still elite even if his team overall sucks?

Purdy isn't that kind of QB. He needs a team around him to succeed. Once you take away some of his weapons he's a non factor.

49ers had the right idea with their team. Problem is that they ended up facing the Chiefs in the Super Bowl twice, a unit that had defeated other teams with much better QBs like Josh Allen and Joe Burrow. Just a bad draw of opponent.

As for Purdy, it's less of a problem with him and more that this league, frankly, overvalues QBs in terms of how much they get paid, especially if they're not a top tier guy. Kirk Cousins got around 100k in guaranteed money with the Falcons. Sam Darnold might end up being paid in the same ballpark. Even Daniel Jones got a similar amount of guaranteed money. Basically, one shows mere conpetence and you get a ton of money at the expense of everyone else.

Yep, the Niners built a great team around a solid QB on a rookie contract. The Chiefs are just a dynasty right now.

The NFL has to learn that you can't pay average to above average starting QBs like they're franchise QBs. You just can't. You pay franchise QBs to carry your team. Those guys a step or two or three behind can't do that but paying them forces them to get and the results aren't pretty. You got a let them walk.

They have been ravaged by injuries and he still has put up really good numbers.  He has 4th string rb.  Debo and jennings at wr and debo has been terrible his dropped td cost them the game last night.  He is still a young player developing and is already really elite.  He gets alot of hate bc he is not athletic and flashy.  Burrow has had better weopons then purdy has this year on offense chase and higgens and a better rb as the 49ers have had cmac miss almost entire season.  He is 4 and 2 in playoffs and this is his 3rd year playing career qbrating of 104.9  higher than burrows 100.5 but i still think burrow is better just dont think people realize the number purdy has as last pic in the draft such a young career.

If you have to make excuses and blame injuries as to why your QB is struggling that tells me all I need to know. Last I check Kittle and Jennings are still one of the better TEs and WRs in the league. Even with guys like CMC and Trent injured they still have more weapons than we currently have.

What Bryce is doing is more impressive than what Purdy is doing. Keep in mind the rosters of both QBs.

I don't care about arbitrary passer ratings that are completely derived from stats. When I watch them play there's a lot of guys I would take over Purdy.

Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Stafford, Goff, Love, Herbert, Hurts, resurgent Wilson, it's early but I've seen enough from Daniels and Maye to take them over Purdy and push come to shove is probably take Nix too. I mean, yeah... he's basically a middle of the pack type starting QB.

It's the rookie salary cap all over again.

    • The only WR that makes sense in the first is KC Concepcion. He fills multiple roles in the offense and is a PR specialist.
    • That depends upon what happens with receiver this year and what happens with free agency next year. Hopefully we'll be good by addressing receiver this year (regardless of whether we snag one in the first round or not). If we don't and are unlucky enough for to Coker get hurt (and X solidifies his bust status, and JAGs be JAGing), then we may be fùçked! But I assume that Dan Morgan and company will feel compelled to look for answers in free agency and use that to set up the draft just like this offseason.  Reality is not as simple as we drafted this position X times in a row in the first. If you're suggesting that we could draft a position in the first four times in a row, that's not likely. At some point probability has to be taken into account. I mean, how many years in a row can you be unlucky with one position?  As I've said at times before, you try and plan for the long term personnel-wise and cap-wise of course, but things happen so, in a sense, you still must look at each season--each "team" if you will--unto itself each season. So many things can happen between now and then. A major industry can profoundly impact the bigger picture (like this year), someone could offer you a trade proposal that you can't resist, players might not have progressed to your expectations--you know, things like that. Moreover, you have to be aware of the dynamics of each draft class, including the fact that there could be unexpected draft risers and fallers during the college season. That's a lot. As of today, we expect the 2027 draft to have more exclamations than question marks at OT and the QB class and WR group is expected to be exceptionally strong. We'll have a clearer picture of whatever we'll have to focus on next year at this time.  Lastly, keep in mind that there's always more than one way to get you to where you want to go. The yearly puzzle is not static, it's dynamic and complex.
    • I'm fine with Thieneman or McNeil-Warren.. Rodriguez won't last until 51 so they would have to trade up, he may end up being a late first round selection. Anthony Hill Jr. is more likely to be available. I don't expect defense in the first round now after the murmurings of finding another weapon for Bryce.
