We shall see, I think he is on the right trajectory but at the very least it means we don’t have to waste another draft pick or free agent signing, can focus on building out the rest of the roster

Why combine passing and rushing yards and touchdowns like he's Cam Newton? Well I can already tell it's gonna be a long offseason ahead

As far as where he is now visually I think we can all agree he looks like a different QB. But that also requires acknowledging he was literally a bottom 5 passer amongst all active QB's previously.

As far as this and hypothetical numbers we could engage in exercises like this all day long and make things fit whichever narrative we seek.

Let's take a look at where Teddy would rank if he had his 2020 numbers this season.

Teddy Bridgewater would be:

10th in passing yards this season

9th in passing yards per game

8th in yards per attempt

8th in completion percentage

The simple fact of the matter is Bryce Young is a first overall pick. No matter what anyone here says or anyone in the media says he and we know the expectations that will be set forth for next season. Low end Teddy Bridgewater and Kyle Allen numbers aren't going to cut it regardless of any discussion of supporting cast. The big jump has to happen next season.

He’s proven he can at least be a moderately effective NFL QB and he will likely have a long NFL career as a fringe starter, and definitely a backup. I still think his physical limitations mean there is not much room for improvement with him. The only way for him to play better is to put an elite supporting cast around him. 

He doesn't need elite just give him NFL quality playmakers around him and he'll thrive.

One of the two is going to happen regardless.  No way they roll into 2025 with only young and Plummer on the roster.   My gut says drew lock is making his way here

Can we all agree he has bottom 5 weapons also? So comparing Bridgewater who had CMC, Moore and Samuel to Bryce with his weapons isn't really a fair comparison

Top 5 oline.  Top 8ish rb.   1rst rd wr.   Theilen.  Sure there should be upgrades but let's pull back on the excuses a bit.

McCaffrey played in 3 games that season.

Of the current receiving group Legette has been really frustrating to say the least but the rest of the group has plenty of potential going forward. But Bryce has one of the best OL's in the league that is also the most expensive too. We have a slew of needs on defense. There will likely be another offensive addition or two down the line but it's going to be up to Bryce to make do with what he's got next season while we rebuild the defensive roster.

Teddy had Mike Davis in reality.  Not CMC

It took Bryce 10 extra games to surpass Kyle Allen's 13 games worth of passing yardage from 2019. In a down year for passing offense.

      If they are going to trade up let it be in the 2nd round for Hill. But I don't like that idea either. What I would selfishly like to see happen is they take the Oregon safety in the 1st over the 3rd or 4th best ILB or OLB. Then see how round 2 shakes out. Take the linebacker with the 70's mustache in the 3rd and go from there. Production is the word you are looking for.

      He was saying Ron hid when he was cut/traded whatever that was.  I get being resentful, and feeling like that was gutless.  He, and Ron, neither are from the ‘breaking up with someone in a text or email is okay’ generation. That avoidance is seen as a lack of character.  Talking about it on camera how many years later? Why? And it is all one sided he said she said stuff. As he is speaking I am thinking well I bet that ain’t the whole story.    Between this type of stuff and him cheating on the wife stuff some of his shine is wearing off.

      I was very critical of Ron Rivera as a coach for a range of reasons. But Steve Smith has been playing the victim for years now and it's just not working anymore. We know for a fact that he was disgruntled from the moment we drafted Cam Newton because of his own ego. That says more about him than anything he could say about Rivera. And yes Ron Rivera had a lot of faults. No excuses for it. We were right to move on from him. But ultimately Steve Smith couldn't hold it together with that group the same as he struggled to hold it together under previous regimes. He needs to grow up and accept his own role in the last few years of his Panthers career because there are things he could and should have done differently the same as anyone else. Stop seeking to only shift blame to everyone else and evolve or just stop talking and fade away. This isn't helping anyone and it is certainly not helping his image.
