Anyone got the draft scenarios for this Sunday?

Recommended Posts

CLE and NE are ahead...highest pick is 3 if we lose.

Games with implications w/a loss:

3 win teams (we have lower SOS than both so leap frog if we lose, they win):

Titans vs. Texans - Texans sound to be resting their starters.  Although, unsure if they want to limp into the playoffs.  And Titans could still lose to backups.  But winnable game, they did beat HOU this year before the Texans defense made a turnaround.

Giants vs. Eagles - Eagles are resting certain starters vs the Giants.  Again, a situation where the Iggles backups could still take care of things.

4 win teams:

Jaguars vs. Colts - I don't know what will happen here.  But both teams are in disarray.

Jets vs Dolphins - Tua is out but the Dolphins still have a chance at the playoffs with a DEN loss.  Interesting one to watch for since we have the same SOS right now.

Raiders vs. Chargers - Chargers have playoff seeding on the line, could clean up.

Bears vs. Packers - Seeding is on the line, Packers are not resting starters.

TL,DR: There's so much going on, I'm just going to split it and say we stay around 6.  There's no particular guy we're missing out on in this draft IMO.  There's no "OMG we have to get him" talent.  I don't think Graham, Johnson, or McMillan are that.  We end up where we end up.

Quick look - with a loss and a lot of help, looks like we could get up to 3rd. Would need the Titans, Giants and Jaguars to all win. With a win, we could drop back as far as 9th assuming Jets, Raiders and Bears all lose.

So anywhere from 3-9 we could land. I'm going to assume we lose and rise to 5th after Jags or Titans win.

Sitting at #6 right now.

#3 is our absolute ceiling and we'd need need the Pats, Giants, Browns, and Titans to all win while we lose to pull that off so yeah... not gonna happen. LOL

Win and we could drop as low as #10.

Just lose this game and let the chips fall where they may.

Maybe, maybe not. It'll be like every other draft. There will be a couple of busts in the top 10, a couple of stellar performers, and most will be in that "good player but not what we expected out of a top 10 pick" type of guys.

I just don't think this is like every draft.  It smells like 2013.  I just don't see the all-pro talent at the top.  It's a really poor draft at the top.  Maybe Mason Graham and Malaki Starks...but just looking relatively:

-Mims/Fuaga would be OT1 this year easy, no questions, ahead of Banks and Campbell.

-Hunter & McMillan are more on a Drake London level than a Chase, Nabers, or Marv. Would take Rome ahead of both.

-The top pass rushers would be going in the 20s or beyond most other years.

-Overall, I like the interior DL, depth of the RB and Pass Rusher classes, and the safeties.  But this is a pretty iffy group compared to most years in R1.

I think Hunter is that talent. He's as close to a I bet he makes the Hall of Fame guy as u can find. He is the only guy that supercedes Abdul Carter in my mind.

That's crazy. At corner specifically and possibly wr.. hunter is generational. I would wager him vs any corner in the last 5 years.

I just don't see it.  I think he is a good wr and a good cb.  I don't think he's elite at either.  If he didn't play both ways I don't think he would be the first cb or wr taken.

The Jets could leapfrog us with a loss, but they are -1 vs. Fish--I can't understand that, unless the Fish are throwing in the towel.

Jags, Giants, Jets and Titans are our best hopes to win to propel us up the draft board.  I see the Jets (Rodgers will make a statement today on his way out the door--the "enigma" and Titans as our best chance.  No idea about Jags or Giants.

I also see it rather likely that the Panthers beat Atlanta.  It is in our DNA to win meaningless games.

No Tua, I believe. Or so it is trending.

    • They are 1 and 9 against the  Bucs in the past 10 games. the Panthers go as young goes.  QB1 ‘s are suppose to dictate and overcome  and elevate Everything the QB does affects every part of the team and Bryce is uneven. Canales and Bryce have  an uneven relationship too  as for Evero, the only thing that might save him is the injury to Baker’s left shoulder and oline injuries. I don’t even know how he is out there   I really feel their season ended last Sunday Canales’ division record isn’t great   Getting owned by the Saints and Bucs isn’t a good look
    • Frankly surprised by the amount of people that want to hang Evero. This was a defense that was almost universally considered the bottom of the barrel before this season started. We’ve managed to stat our way to the middle of the pack whatever that means. Those critical of the zone schemes, what do you want? When even JC is getting burnt one on one by Olave you have little choice. There definitely have been moments where the zone blitz stuff has bit us. That said, are the third string linebackers (and nick Scott) covering poo anyway? This unit had only conceded 10 points going into the fourth quarter despite a litany of bullshit penalties on both sides. Them over performing is the biggest reason we are still in playoff contention.
