If we fuging trade up to get Carter, fire everyone and do it yesterday.

Yeah, I like him a lot but we have way too many needs to be sacrificing draft capital to move up. Big moves up should be limited to QBs or teams who think they're just a key piece or two away from being a legit contender.

I am not a fan personally. I think he is a very poor man's Brian Burns and that isn't worth the #8 pick.

I honestly don't see the Burns comp at all. I doubt there's any non-Panthers fans out there making that comp. Carter seems to have quite a bit more playing strength than Burns.

I would disagree. Carter is a substantially less effective pass rusher than Burns.

I'm not just talking about rushing the passer. I'd take a lesser pass rusher if he played the run better. Burns has always been a good pass rusher but he's also always been an absolute liability when the opposing offense runs right at him. He's a good pursuit tackler but he can't set an edge or get off a block to save his life. Pretty much all of his success comes from simply beating an OT around the edge with pure speed. There's no plan B.

Yes, and I mean that Carter is more effective in basically every single aspect of his game than Carter.

I am an outlier, I really, really, REALLY dislike Carter. I think he is a massive bust waiting to happen.

No we don't....

I said thugs...not murderers or intent to commit murders.

More importantly im talking about players that play with a mean enforcer streak on the field.

I'm to the point that it never really shocks me when a prospect busts but honestly I see Carter as a much more developed prospect than Burns was coming out which makes sense since Carter is being talked about as a potential top 5 pick and Burns was a mid-1st rounder.

See, I view it quite a bit differently. Carter is a far, far less developed prospect than Burns.

Burns was a one trick pony coming into the draft and he largely still is. That's not Carter at all. I mean, he was largely a stand up off the ball LB prior to this season.

That is sort of what I mean. He isn't even a real EDGE. He is a LB in ED clothing.

    • Lol. The Texans are literally one of Bryce's six career NFL wins. WTF are you talking about?
    • Yeah, I mean it is a statistical fact and also part of literally a player evaluation. Winston has literally lost dozens of games in his NFL career due to crippling TO's. It's just who he is. Look, it's fun when those insane throws work and he is leading you back from some crazy deficit. But those success are rare. It's why his career GWD count is so low. He's fun but he is fundamentally built to lose games.  If you are talking about a backup QB, you are literally already losing in the first place. That's how you see a backup QB and that's overwhelmingly what they tend to do. Rookie QB's almost always benefit from veteran QB's. Same as literally any other position in the NFL. Why do you think that you so often hear that from the playera themselves? As for Bryce NEEDING one, no he sure as poo shouldn't this late in the game. But he also shouldn't have needed this fuging long to get his fuging footwork straightened out either. Yet here we are.
    • Comfortability is the primary reason. They don't want to hurt Bryce's confidence. But I say if his confidence is that fragile that healthy competition which makes everyone better is enough for them to keep making Andy Dalton rich then Bryce was never going to be the guy anyway. Give me the QB who sees the competition amongst his peers and uses it to take it to the next level. Instead we get the guy who comes out looking like a deer in the headlights against the Texans after we've done everything possible to appease him. Definition of complacency.
